Title: Is my PC worth upgrading?

AMD 64x2 3800+ (system requirements lab says it's rated at 5.7ghz, but I dunno what that means)

3 gigs ram

Vista premium

I have a 7600gs card right now, but with Left 4 Dead coming I was thinking about upgrading to an 8800gt, since they're pretty cheap now - is it worth it, considering my processor?  Will I need to buy a new power supply or anything?

Yeah, it's worth an upgrade.  Many PC games don't require that much PC power.  The 8800GT would make a lot of games more enjoyable on your PC.  I think the power requirements of the 8800GT is about the same as your current GPU but you should check.

I had a 7600gt and IMO it sucked

probably was my shitty cpu holding it back though

just started up HL2 Ep 1, runs well on max settings at 1280x720, very little skip

i may not need a new card for L4D, just run it at lower settings

do you have a pci-express slot in yer pc, eel? i have a 500 watt enermax psu and a 8800 gts 640mb card collecting dust.

I think Diablos 3 will be so awesome that many people are gonna upgrade their PCs and I'm not even a fan of Blizzard games.
