so there's a bunch of Winrar files taht i have downloaded over the years on my harddrive. I have no idea where they are. windows Search doesn't let me search by file type, as far as i have tried.
not to mention, there's a pron file or two that i cannot find, and i need to give this old PC to one of my relatives.
help? :(
PS: i'm on xp sp2.
PPS: and just so you kjnow, the file names I don't remember, they arre all jumbled and non sensical anyways

You can search by filetype. Search "*.rar" without quotes

NOOB

if these are large files use a program that shows you which files are the largest on your hdd and they should be easy to find
windirstat I think is the name

If you're going to give the computer to a relative, just wipe the hard drive anyway. Don't need to find stuff and delete it if you delete EVERYTHING. :)

This is the only acceptable answer to the problem presented by the OP.

There should be some people here coming up with awesome query's to find them.

ok, after some research, it appears TreeSize Free is an excellent companion/complement to it.
