I feel sorry for EliteXC, chances are they go bankrupt now that their marketing machine is done, but holy shit. :lol
-
that was so fucking hilarious
:rofl
-
His career is over. :lol
-
I want to see this, where can I do that?
-
Not that I think Slice is good or anything, but I'm kinda disappointed he lost. A lot of people hated on him for being a paper tiger, but at least he was a paper tiger keeping a rival promotion against UFC and Dana White afloat. Now its likely bankrupt, barring Elite XC and Affliction merging (who was doing an odd amount of advertising for tonight.) I could see Elite XC and Afflication merging and CBS and Afflicition splitting the bill, but probably not likely.
In the end, I see Dana White laughing, realizing he can charge another $5.00 on PPV's nowadays, and doesn't have to worry about giving up another PPV free again for about a year. That's what's sad about it. Kimbo is a joke, but the fans lose out because there's no UFC competition.
-
He took a dive. What a joke.
-
The best part was that the guy that beat Slice basically apologized for winning. Then Slice left acting like he was the winner.
-
welp that about wraps it up for EliteXC
-
:lol
wtf happened?
A Kimbo Slice vs. Ken Shamrock fight was signed for October 4, 2008 to take place at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida as part of CBS' "Saturday Night Fights". [15] [16] Seth Petruzelli replaced Shamrock due to a cut to the left eye during warm ups only hours before the fight was to take place[17]. Petruzelli defeated Slice by TKO 14 seconds into the bout.
oh lol that's not good :lol :lol
edit2: holy shit vvvvv :lol

Prior to Saturday night, only the most hardcore mixed-martial-arts fans had any idea who Seth Petruzelli was. That all changed 14 seconds into his showdown with Kimbo Slice at Elite XC: Heat.
Petruzelli (11-4), who was a last-minute replacement for MMA legend Ken Shamrock against Slice (3-1), took advantage of his opportunity of a lifetime. Just second in, he scored with a front kick on an incoming Slice and followed it up with a lightning-quick right hand that knocked Slice to the mat. Realizing he had the much-bigger Slice in trouble, Petruzelli pounced, firing off a dozen unanswered shots before referee Troy Waugh stopped the bout at the 14-second mark.
Petru-whothehellishe? Slice taken down by a TUF castoff. :lol :lol :lol

Jesus, what a perfect example of internet bravery. I'd love to see you say that to her face, and get completely owned afterward.

Maybe she just likes Ding-Dongs...? I'm a pie man, myself. :P

Cutting a lot of weight in such a short time has to be reflected in her stamina.
not really, rich franklin and anderson silva routinely cut 25-30lbs for their fights at 185.

Jeff Gerstmann, upon seeing the fight, had this to say:

How much is Gina cutting? She's fighting at 140, I've got a feeling 20 is a big, big difference at that weightclass. Hell, Forrest Griffin drops 25 lbs or so -- to get to 205 at his 6' 3" height.
-
she was apparently over 165 for gladiators.
forrest drops more than that, I've heard Randy say he walks around at 240 when not training. it all depends when they start seriously cutting.
-
Cutting 20 or 30lbs starting months out should increase your stamina, not reduce it. You're going to have to cut down on eating and lifting and up your conditioning to reduce the weight. Plus, the lower bodyweight will help your conditioning all by itself.
On the other hand, not eating for 3 or 4 days before a fight in an attempt to cut 5lbs will surely fuck you up. You can't help but lose good weight along with bad in that scenario.
