Title: o god I downloaded a lot of fleetwood mac last night
Post by: TVC15 on October 05, 2008, 06:20:50 PM
What's become of me?  At least it's better than the Beatles.  I blame my dentist and my near-death with the chupacabra last night.  I've remembered another detail:  it's head was really round, like an infant or something.

I also downloaded a bunch of Donovan tracks.  Also better than the Beatles, btw.

I hope Hurdy Gurdy Man was one of the Donovan tracks you downloaded.

I was going to say that what with the Fleetwood Mac and the Donovan, I probably had the most embarrassing Zune social page.  So I logged in to check, and Himuro with the save:  his gay black nerd ass listened to a bunch of Nobuo Uematsu shit.  His japafaggotry saved me from being the worst!

I also downloaded a bunch of Donovan tracks.  Also better than the Beatles, btw.

I hope Hurdy Gurdy Man was one of the Donovan tracks you downloaded.

That, Sunshine Superman, and Season of the Witch.

Is that some new emo band?  because if it is, it too would be better than the Beatles.

I'll have to take your word for it, dude.

Alanis Morrisette is one of the few artists who simply makes me shudder to hear.  hearing her voice on the radio produces a reflex action in me to change the station.

Check out Vespertine and Selmasongs.  Vespertine is great fall/winter music.  Everything after that has been kinda meh to me.  Not bad, but like, not noteworthy.

On Selmasongs you get the awesome duet with Thom Yorke.

This. What's so bad about FM? I think they're really good.

edit: I like Bjork too.

Old alanis is hilarious as self-parody. I don't think Feast on Scraps/Hands Clean is that bad.

Badmotorfinger was their last good album.  Ultramega OK and Louder than Love are their real best albums.  They were better when they were noisier.

I've noticed it seems like the three albums I've heard have like 5-6 fuck awesome songs and 3-4 average songs.

Debut
Good to Fuck awesome:
-Human Behavior
-Venus As a Boy
-There's More to Life than This
-Like Someone in Love
-Big Time Sensuality
-Come to Me
-The Anchor Song

Meh:
-Crying
-One Day
-Aeroplane
-Violently Happy

(I won't rate Post yet since I've been obsessing over Debut and Homogenic)

Homogenic
Fuck awesome:
-Hunter
-Joga
-Unravel
-Bachelorette
-Alarm Call
-Pluto  :o
-All is Full of Love (not great but it's cool)

meh:
-All Neon Like
-5 Years
-Immature

Joga and Hyperballad are my favorites.  I'm also very fond of Hidden Place and Aurora on Vespertine.

Seriously, get Vespertine.  It's not an album you can listen to all the time, but it is so perfect for late nights and the fall and winter.  It's very seasonal.  It is excellent.

Joga is one of my top 5 Bjork songs. I loveee dark strings/violin/viola and that song really moves me. Hell the entire album is full of beautiful strings

i liked superunknown!

I remember listening to that album non-stop for ages back in the day*. Then I'd go to school and make fun of Pearl Jam fans

Whats wrong with that? Fleetwood Mac (75), Rumours and Tusk were great. The Rumours episode of Classic Albums was really good too. A band with a really interesting history.

I'm not a big Fleetwood Mac fan, but Lindsey Buckingham's live version of Big Love kills me. Just wow. I wish I was half as talented on guitar.
