And if so, how would you change them?

I'd add Waggle to every one so they sell TONS AND TONS because third party games thrive on the Wii

-Make some of the later dungeons in Star Ocean 2 more complex
-Make the solution for getting the "A" ending in Valkyrie Profile less obtuse
-Require slightly less grinding in Phantasy Star 2

Most of my favourite games could use a few technical touch-ups. Doom source mods are a good example. Doom at high res with mouse aiming = perfection.

Eternal Darkness could have been less obvious with implementation of the sanity meter. The sanity effects are awesome but if you're totally aware of the sanity meter the whole time then it's not nearly as effective as it could have been.

Hitman Series - Imagine you could rewind back 30 seconds or so anytime throughout your missions... No more starting levels over for minor fuck-ups. Also imagine the game recorded your mission (minus any rewinds), so that you could sit back put your feet up and watch your best playthroughs.

Indigo Prophecy - I love this game and would change much of the story, but it simply fell too far into the realm of stupidity to be redeemable. Heavy Rain sounds like it could fulfill the expectations I had going into IP.

I was going to post this.

I would post "make Valkyrie Profile not suck" - but that is a feat in itself.

Singleplayer guns in COD4, or at least allow multiple addons:

Ninja Gaiden 2:  the game is a fucking JOKE as is, there's no strategy in chopping through hallways of meat.  no toying with baddies. :zzz  no fun.  just SLASH and DASH :zzz ::)

apply a buncha balance tweaks to the SNES FF games, make the random enemies in Chrono Trigger not a joke.  I could actually do this via ROM hacking were I not lazy.

i'd take the rank system out of battle garegga and balance the thing for players rather than arcade operators
i'd strip the vestigial adventure elements from dmc
i'd beg kojima to reconsider most of the plotting of the mgs series

...when i put it that way i'm not sure my favorite games actually are my favorite games
