Yeah, I watched this last Friday with Disposable White Guy over a helping of pumpkin ale. Some great cinematography and a whacky ending that is pretty faithful to the Clive Barker short story, but it dragged way too much.
Still, incredibly well shot for this type of film.

I was planning on watching this on FEARNet a bit earlier this evening. It's getting to the point in the night where I won't be able to watch it with the rest of my plans / obligations. Oh well!
I'm still gonna try my damnedest to catch Ils, though! It all depends on the video conversion speed and shit.

despite his repeated attempts to prove otherwise, I'm convinced that Ryuhei Kitamura can have a great career in horror and action films. His bad films are at least interesting and competently made, and his good flicks make you forget the bad ones. He's a more talented Japanese version of Micheal Bay, and I'm not complaining about that.

I liked it in a good-not-great sort of way. It kinda reminds me of like, an inferior Candyman. In my opinion, the film has 2 weak parts.
1) The dude from Alias that plays Leon can't do intense, and at a few spots he just feels completely flat. Not that he did a bad job all around, but he had some eh moments.
2) A quote I said to prole earlier: "Midnight Meat Train has a sex scene so stilted and bizarre that it can only be described as 'japanese.'"
There are some visually striking shots in the movie, most specifically one particular apartment scene where it cuts between rooms in (what appears to be) single takes.

Sadly I missed it during it's 1 week $1.50 theatre run. Lionsgate can kiss my ass with their stupid decisions lately. If they cut the Punisher to PG-13 I swear that heads will roll :maf

Amazing movie agreed, and I liked the ending a lot.

Whoa whoa, it's nice sex scene. Not bizarre at all if I recall correctly. He justs gives it to her rough. Weird thing is though she doesn't seem to enjoy it that much :-*
It's so sudden and strange. It's very short and sudden. It's like she suddenly became submissive and then I thought he was killing her. I thought someone was possessed in the scene or something.

He gave it to her in the butt, because he had become depraved and sadistic from his night stalking.
