Is stripe mode = Raid 0?  Also, is stripe mode faster or stripe + mirror?

stripe mode is faster -- it theoretically doubles read speed and slightly reduces write speed, but it doesn't provide any real backup since both discs are treated as one. and yes, stripe is raid 0. basically, it writes one "stripe" of data to one disc, and the next "stripe" to the other disc, in alternating fashion.
