PETROLIA, Pennsylvania (AP) -- A corrosive liquid overflowed from a tank at a chemical plant in western Pennsylvania on Saturday, evaporating into a toxic cloud that snaked along the ground and forced about 2,500 people to flee. At least three residents were believed to be injured.
A dense cloud of toxic gas moved close to the ground in parts of Petrolia, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.
A material called oleum, similar to sulfuric acid, leaked from a tank at the Indspec Chemical Corp. plant in Petrolia, said plant manager Dave Dorko.
Authorities were concerned about the potential for respiratory damage and skin burns, said Freda Tarbell, spokeswoman for the state Department of Environmental Protection.

Yes! This is potentially the greatest opportunity for American citizens to acquire superpowers since Three Mile Island.

Or for zombies to be born from the secret government chemicals hidden in the plant.

I'm with crushed. Chemical gasses, by themselves, have almost NEVER granted a person superhuman abilities. However, it has been documented time and time again to bring the dead back to life.
How fitting that it'd be in Pennsylvania, no less - the state is home to George A. Romero and the events of his two groundbreaking zombie epics.

Oh man, a zombie outbreak would be awesome. It is also located close enough that I can drive down there and bash some heads in, but far enough that I can still be safe.

I'd like to hypnotize a strongman from a traveling circus to wander into it, thus gaining the power to do my diabolical bidding. If it doesn't work, eh. There will always be other strongmen.
-
I really don't think strongmen are in vogue nowadays, Mandark.
-
Well a super-strong bearded lady will be just as effective, and maybe more terrorizing, Mr. Rain On My Parade!

Haha why have I not heard about this, being born and raised and living in PA? I also have never heard of Petrolia.
-
I love the name Petrolia. It's like the oil utopia of the world.

Ecro and I are okay here. Pretty far away. :)

Yes, but the winds could blow the chemical death cloud to your home and inside your poorly kept windows.
