I haven't played any games like that since the first Disgaea.

Well, I also played La Pucelle Tactics, but not very much.

And Kashimashi is a decent romantic comedy. Plus it has a guy that gets turned into a girl by aliens after he died from being smashed by their spaceship and after that he kisses other girls, so there's that too.

I'll delve into my vast reservoir of anime-obtained knowledge about Japan and say that it's probably closer to 17 because the second year of high school is equivalent to the third year of high school in America.

Well, it's always a grey area when you're talking about a show that features high school girls because it's animated not live action. You can analyze looks, but that varies with art style and, just like in a real life, people don't necessarily look their age. Then there's context, but, as you said, that can be tricky as well.

In this case, while they might appear younger than 16-17 years old, they're never portrayed as being anything other than normal high school girls. So...*shrugs*

Agreed. I like it more than Ringu which is pretty amazing. I suspect a lot of people probably don't like it, but I loved Ring 2 as well.

Ring is better though, proving Gore is a talented bastard indeed.

That's one of the things that really made it stand out to me. Something else that I noticed in watching some of it again for the first time since it originally came out on DVD was how incredible the cinematography is. It really drives home the sense of isolation from the world and haunting dread. The music and sound work as also near-genius.

Some of the acting/dialogue is a bit flat, but I can forgive that.

Yeah its scores so far are in the BulletWitch range. Im going to get Spyro and Far Cry 2 tomorrow. FC2 has been getting really good reviews, and Spyro, well ill give that series another go. I need to trade in Crash Mind Over Mutant to rebuy Crash of the Titans which I stupidly traded in

Devil Summoner 2+ comes with DS2 & then a version of Nocturne where Raidou and his summons are added to the story (probably replacing Dante since they might not have the license to use him anymore). Atlus has been very shhhh about this bonus version of Nocturne, probably because they barely adding anything >:( Once people start getting the game in the next week we should know all the changes to Nocturne.

Devil Summoner 2+ comes with DS2 & then a version of Nocturne where Raidou and his summons are added to the story (probably replacing Dante since they might not have the license to use him anymore).

Ah. I haven't been following DS2 at all and was hoping for Raidou in Nocturne's world or something. :'(

Hopefully it's a bit better than the first one. There was room for improvement.
