Kick ass! Snow in November. Western Wa usually doesnt get it this early.
Also my neighbor ON THE SECOND FLOOR got robbed by some guys who scale drainpipes and look for open patio doors. I hope they never BREAK patio doors cause I Keep mine locked.
-
Heard you guys got POURED on this year.
And that the lovely Mt. Rainier park basically got destroyed :(
I loved that place. Walked up that trail (which is also gone) and everything. It was so awesome. What a breathtaking view at the top.
-
Flooding was bad yeah. Traffic got stupid bad since most roads were closed and people were detoured to the same road lol.
The rain is to be expected, but to be honestly spring and summer of this past year was so dry I think people forgot exactly where we live ;) I lived in Aberdeen on the coast for 9 years, and there it rains WAY more than Seattle, so the RAIN is kids stuff.
However Aberdeen rarely gets snow since its never cold enough just off the coast, so snow I am not as used to ;)
-
Heh... I remember being told when I went to Seattle that, at least Seattle itself, gets no more annual rainfall than NYC does. If that's the case people should stop hating on Seattle for rain.
It just seems like every now and then there's more of a chance for an unusually long duration of rain. What can ya do. It's still an awesome area.

I love rain. I lived in Arizona for a while and fuck if that isnt the most lifeless shithole on the planet

where do you live MAF? It's 64 degrees here in Ohio!!! crazyness I'm telling you. It gets warmer and warmer every year. I remember when I moved here about 13 years ago it would be around 30 degrees this time of the year.
-
redWOOD, it's 63 here in Pittsburgh...
and I agree. It's amazing how much warmer it keeps getting. Although we did have a fairly snowy winter a couple years ago here. But they are less frequent. The last time it was REALLY REALLY bad here would have to be the blizzard we were hit with in the mid-90's. I think it was either 1994 or 1995. Not sure if you got that over in Ohio.

It's the same way in PA. We had bad blizzards in 1993 and 1996, and after that nothing really memorable. I remember in 93 I let my little dog outside, not realizing that the snow was up to our back porch, and he kinda fell into the snow and I couldn't find him. I was all crying and my tears were frozen to my face and stuff.
We don't get that kind of snow anymore, it seems. Sad for me because I much prefer cold weather to hot weather.
-
The one in either 94 or 95 was the worst, though.

He was fine, I dug through the snow and found him. He was probably there for all of two minutes, but being 8 years old, I was pretty upset about it.
He's no longer with us, but he was nearly thirteen when we finally had him put to sleep.
Here he is with me in 2003.

That was one of my senior pictures.

It's been in the 60's all week but it's supposed to snow this weekend. That's Ohio for you
-
Hell yeah, I didn't really have to work at today cause everyone was scared of driving on the ice and didn't come in. I was up at 5am, watching the news and they say, "Campus is closed... " So I went to the freezer and broke open the tequila bottle, and as I'm drinking they come back and say, "Oh, wait... we've changed our minds... we're open... but with no services." So I poured the tequila back into the bottle and went to sleep...
Probably still shoulda just stayed home.
GOOD NEWS MAF, MORE SNOW EXPECTED TOMORROW
-
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IM TRYING TO GET TO WORK.
The good news is WSDOT has their act together and the main roads like 405/I5/I90/527 should be salted and de-iced for the most part. Apparently, WSDOT had believed THEIR forcast of RAIN and ignored the 5 other forcasts for SNOW and that is pretty much why Monday and Tuesday were a complete wash.
The next round should be easier and safer.

So you know how all school districts are closed today?
Not the one I work for. On my way from Seattle (closed) to Auburn (open and on time), I drove through Tukwila (closed), Highline (closed), Federal Way (closed), and Kent (closed). Plus, all the nearby districts to the south are closed too...
Yay.
-
Roads are decent today, made it in to work. More snow coming tonight/tomorrow but I THINK WSDOT learned its lesson from the last fucking snafu.
-
No snow here yet... :(
