Let me know how you like it.  I was kind of curious as to whether it would be good.  I hate touch pad buttons.

To ''right click'' click with two fingers.  I don't know if that's the default, so you may have to change the preferences.  I got to play with one and it feels amazingly solid.  I'm fine with my Blackbook atm, though.

TVC, the trackpad is clickable, providing tactile feedback.  It's not a tap to click set up, but a click to click one.  I hate tap to click myself due to the false ''clicks'' that are common in that set up.

the clicking mouse pad is odd, i'd have preferred a tap functionality as holding and dragging is kind of a pain because you have to keep constant pressure.  it seems odd from a design standpoint to have a forced contextual menu bar at the top forcing you to go outside the window you're currently using to get to things like "file" or "edit" options.

mounting applications before use is strange as well.

At first I was in the same boat, but it literally takes a couple hours to get the hang of it.

And I actually like the fixed menu bar at the top much more than how Windows handles such things.

it's much better now, actually but the inital shock of the unknown yet familiar is kind of a pain to overcome

Command-Shift-3 for full screen, Command-Shift-4 to choose a part of the screen.

I have the opposite problem, I can never remember the shortcut for a window grab in Windows (Alt-Printscreen as I just discovered.  Alt-Shift-Printscreen turns on some high contrast setting - wtf).

all I have to say, after ~15 years of using Windows and 3 weeks on a new macbook with Leopard is....fuck windows.

Not to say I should've been into macs all along, but I really have no reason to go back. my windows experience has made using macs a cinch and :bow MOUSE GESTURES. :bow2

All I can say is this.  If you have a Pro and run Windows along with your OSX, there's almost nothing better.  I've been able to do so much with this, it's been great.  I get the best of both worlds.

I have some sort of version of it on here, but I haven't tinkered with it yet.  Not the free trial version you gave me, rather I think...7.0.3 or something.

WARNING:  apple laptop batteries are horrible, pathetic, shitty slabs of metal.

i get 25 minutes unplugged now.  TWENTY FIVE FREAKING MINUTES
Quote
For proper maintenance of a lithium-based battery, it’s important to keep the electrons in it moving occasionally. Apple does not recommend leaving your portable plugged in all the time. An ideal use would be a commuter who uses her MacBook Pro on the train, then plugs it in at the office to charge. This keeps the battery juices flowing. If on the other hand, you use a desktop computer at work, and save a notebook for infrequent travel, Apple recommends charging and discharging its battery at least once per month.

well, shit.  Even when I was in art school and was extremely mobile with the thing it suddenly died completely - lesson:  fuck you apple hire Duracell or something

I'm confused.  What the fuck do they mean by "keeping the electrons moving"?   I use up about a charge a day just taking notes and browsing during class, then leave it plugged in overnight.

More importantly, all versions of CrossOver are free today because something something george bush something

http://down.codeweavers.com/

I've never used it, but it's free software to run windows on Mac..it normally costs $60.  CrossOver games doesn't even require windows to play PC games!!  Not sure how good the compatibility is though.

i love my new mac pro. vista 64 and leopard in the same box. 10gb ram and 8-cores. fucking win.

i find myself using the leopard side primarily.  i think i'm slowly entering the dark side.

Can anyone that has a Macbook Pro tell me how it is playing games?  I wanted the new aluminum macbook but why not spend the extra 400 to get a better machine if it has the added bonus of being able to play games.

Why buy a Mac then, looks aside?
Brand loyalty, OSX, yadda, yadda.  Some industries are also very Mac-centric, such as audio and film production.
