I bought it on Wednesday, it's $29.99 at Circuit City through tomorrow. Haven't played it, though.

Looks like I'm off to Circuit City then!

Eric P - I loved the original on SFC, back in the day, if it helps. Cool skills/item creation system and fun (at the time) battles. And sweet graphics/music as well.

You're going to like this then.  SO1 PSP = SO2 w/different story.

That's definitely the vibe everyone is playing and the first few hours I played fell in line with that.

Having never played the original, I like the game so far. The gameplay is pretty much button mashing, but you can be more tactical if you want to take your time. The graphics are great with highly detailed sprites and they animate beautifully. The story is traditional JRPG bullshit, so its not a deal maker or breaker. I kind of wish that there were more futuristic weapons instead of just swords and other traditional fantasy weapons. Also, the arena is fun.
