Title: Kids: yea or nay?
Post by: Rman on October 31, 2008, 04:25:46 PM
I feel that as I get older my tolerance towards children wanes, even to the point of not having them.  Just thinking of the teen years makes me shudder.  But, I'm a softee at heart and seeing the little ones outside during Halloween stirs my paternal extinct.  Anyone goes back and forth like regarding ever having or adopting kids?

Kids are just as bad as Wives, why people get either is beyond me. Wouldnt you rather ENJOY LIFE instead of catering to a WOMAN and a CHILD

Yeah, sometimes I'm like, yeah children, I wanna knock up my wife.  Then other times I want to get snipped so I can have her to myself for the rest of our lives.  Also whenever there's loud annoying children around I want a gun.  :gun

FUCKING NAY.

Kids are disgusting.  Also, I can't fathom the OP's view on things- I'm the exact opposite.  When they're young and can't work a field or have their body sold they're useless.  It's only when they become old enough to take directions that children become profitable.

That kid with the mustache looks like he knows where the best drugs are.  I'll adopt him.

I bet he's banged everyone else in that picture.

Yeah, I'm one of those people who would like kids, but I wish I weren't.

I hate the little fuckers and they're expensive and they'll whine all the time because I get to play games when they come out and they'll have to wait until Christmas.

Who are those teens in the spoiler, Jinfash?

Remember that video that youtube video about 6 teenage girls beating their friend while two guys guard the door?

Quote from:  CBS News
Eight teenagers have been arrested after filming the beating of another teen and threatening to post the video on the Internet, sheriff's officials said.

Victoria Lindsay was attacked on March 30 by six teenage girls when she arrived at a friend's home, the Polk County Sheriff's Office said.

Two girls confronted Lindsay when she walked in, yelling and threatening her, an arrest report showed. Another girl struck her in the head several times and then slammed her head into the bedroom wall, knocking her unconscious.

When she woke up, she was on the couch in the living room surrounded by the six girls. The teens blocked the door, held Lindsay down and began beating her, the report said. Two teenage boys waited outside the home as lookouts.

Link (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/04/08/national/main4000740.shtml?source=mostpop_story)

It all started because the victim (Lindsay) posted some stupid message on one of the girls' myspace :-\

smh
WOW.  What the heck is in the water in Florida? Seriously?

Sometimes, when life is proving that it is blatantly undeserving, a kid will randomly walk along doing nothing lesser than what it deems to do and cause me to reconsider my condemnations.

There's no reason to have a kid unless you are a slave to the inferior, animal part of your humanity.  Having kids means:

1) You lose your freedom.
2) You lose your privacy.
3) You effectively become a slave to the little monster (and some parents apparently LIKE being this sort of slave)
4) The piece of scum isn't appreciative of the work or sacrifice you put into raising it.
5) Bare minimum, 18 years of your life down the toilet unless you are lucky and it dies after you realize the terrible mistake you made.
6) Chances are, it will grow up into being an asshole.
7) You'll delude yourself into thinking that making babies is special and magical and wonderful when any two distinguished mentally-challenged fellow humans on earth could do the same thing with little difficulty.

There is no rational, non-instinctive purpose in having a child, unless you want to shit up your life or you are a midwesterner that doesn't have anything better to do with the last 50 years of your shitty, terrible life.

For some parents, bringing a kid into the world is their form of a do over with their own lives.

For some parents, bringing a kid into the world is their form of a do over with their own lives.

Now that's totally sad and pathetic.  Rather than try to accomplish something meaningful with their lives, they just decide to fuck up another kid, since if they believe they need a "do over" they are probably fucked up to begin with and it's all a terrible cycle.

which causes said parents to saddle their poor innocent brat with all kinds of vicarious expectations, effectively awarding them a life of regret, failure, alcoholism, and fox news watching.

Yea.  Love kids, can't imagine how much I'll love my own.  I'm literally never as happy as I am when I'm around children (up to age 6ish).  Everything is so wonderful for them; watching them discover the world and be enchanted by simple things is amazing to me.  Seeing a child smile or hearing them laugh melts my heart.  And I'm a big, burly man, mind you. ;) :P

If I could afford to raise a family of my own on the salary, I'd work in a day care center.  Unfortunately, that's not the case.  Yay for capitalism! :lol

I don't know if I would ever want a kid of my own.  I'd imagine that taking care of a baby would suck, then there would be some cool years when he isn't annoying until he becomes a dumb teenager who doesn't look up to me (or Batman), then I would have to deal with all that shit.  And shit, if I had a daughter I would have to castrate every boy she talks to.  It's so much effort.

Note that as someone interested in psychology and psychiatry, if someone would donate me an infant, I'd just stick it into a skinner box for about 25 years with absolutely no human contact to see what would happen to the thing.  Actually, I can think of plenty of completely unethical experiments I can do on "clean" children that have not yet been exposed to society or other people.

I actually talked doing that in a class last year and I'm pretty sure the entire class thought I was crazy.  It was about racism and sexism and I said we should try collecting babies to live in a fresh environment free or our society.

I think they'd basically come out animals.  If we went all the way up til the mid-20s, they'd have little chance of learning anything aside from the most basic of language skills.  Maybe a bit brighter than an ape that knows sign language, or an especially intelligent parrot.  It's brain will have gone through it's formative years without being stimulated and needing to grow.  If the room were sterile enough in appearance (like, say, all white with no evidence of a pattern), any independent thought it might have should be completely abstract, since it has nothing to base imagination or thought on.  He'd have to be fed of course, and given some sort of bathroom, so I guess there'd be some influence on his thoughts from those.  Probably driven insane by sexual urges that he can't even identify without knowing what a female even is.  This is making me so hard.

My friend talks about making 12 kids and living in a commune/farm where he teaches them self sufficency and the whole school syllabus within 6 years and making them some sort of Übermensch :(

For some parents, bringing a kid into the world is their form of a do over with their own lives.
He belongs in this category *smh*

That sounds a bit boring.  You do that experiment, I'll do one where I raise a farm of babies to believe they never grow up and are forced to adapt and control mechs at an early age.  They can also speak a custom language I would make up that is entirely based around touching your tongue  to areas around your mouth.

The difference is that my research is actually feasible and maybe even useful.  Plus, during that 25 year period of waiting for the larvae to grow up, I can just sit in my office and smoke a big giant government-funded bong all day.  By the time the kids are grown up, I'd probably have forgotten that there even was an experiment.

My experiment would help create a new batch of emotionless silent robot killers.  Your experiment would only give you some sort of pleasure watching the specimen learning about how his dingaling works.

Wasn't it pretty recent, someone found like a 7-year-old girl who was locked in an attic her whole life or something? She was pretty much a feral child. I swear I read something about it.

I want to have kids... only two.  Two so they won't grow up an only child/asshole.  I'll plan for three though should there be an accidental pregnancy.
