If I get the code, then sure.
I'd love to take on your cock.

It's not going to be instant, heh. Give it time. It might take up to 24 hours for them to send it to you.

This doesn't sound too good.
how does the game run?
Thanks a lot Demi ::)
The gamestop thing didn't work. If anyone has an extra for either the PC or 360, I'd appreciate it, but I probably would only play it a bit since Gears 2 will most likely take up all my time.

So is voice chat necessary for this game?

Probably not. Action's too fast for deep strategy. Wanna play a game together later today?

Can anyone explain what makes it good?Like most truly great games, its greatness is hard to put into words. Yes, you just run around, towards an objective, and you shoot zombies. Has happened 100 times before, and will happen 100 times more. Yet, while other games are garbage, L4D is game of the year.
From the description it just sounds like a co-op FPS where you run around and shoot zombies while running together towards and objective. Seems like it would get old. But everyone is very impressed when playing it in person. What is the secret?
I'll try the demo on Tuesday and see for myself, but until then can someone explain how this is different from a free co-op mod of half-life with zombies?

And yes, there is single-player, Kranz, but it kinda pales in comparison to playing online.
is the demo up for the public yet?
Is a PS3 release even on the cards? Fukken valve uaysguyagsduygsad forcing me to upgrade my POS desktop
It's too frantic IMO.
Which is worse with a mouse, because you have to do the whole, "oh reached the end of my mousepad, have to lift the mouse up and bring it back" thing.
Too frantic? mouse controls bad? what the fuck?
My demo is at 50% now :'( And tommorow is WOTLK.
What are your system specs guys that its stuttering???
since I'm using max settings at 1920x1200 w/16x AA.
And you said it's not as fast paced as on the PC? I think the game would suck not being as fast.
This really does look pretty shitty on the 360...
Wait, why in the hell would they have to sacrifice anything? It looks like your common Source game!

Like 99% of Zombie movies or Zombie books. Slow-moving stumbling zombies that overwhelm you with their numbers and surprise you out from places you don't expect them. Basically like RE.
These guys move like the crimson heads in RE. It works, but they're hardly zombies to me. Game could have just been called "shooting speed addicts" and it'd be the same.
I don't believe fast zombies would exist if an actual zombie outbreak happened. I personally feel that the body would decompose too fast to have that much brain function. I do however believe that slow zombies can still effectively overwhelm a group of people.
Because they AREN'T ZOMBIES. They're infected with a virus that makes them go apeshit.

Technically, true zombies aren't dead people who want to eat humans. Zombies are people cursed by voodoo magic to act as slaves.
Walking corpses that feast upon human flesh would be called revenants or ghouls.
What do you mean technically.
Just played a round with hyp. Good times. People who don't get this game are fools!
Hook up your PC to your TV then. I do that sometimes with games better with controllers.

time to double dip baby!

This is not one of those games. But I might try that anyhow.
After playing both demos, I decided to just get the PC version.
X360 version is fun for what it is, but it seems a bit limited compared to the PC version.
Man this game is just so much fucking funFirst you have to enable it in the options.
BTW how do you open the console?
Do you also have the PC version? I'll play with you.
Let me know how the demo runs on your 8-core supercomputer.
Not sure if you guys know this, but you can start pre-loading the full game on Steam now!
There is nothing like getting grabbed by a Smoker's tongue, dragged into a solid object, and being swarmed by a dozen zombies at once.
Several times its tongue actually burst through two layers of windows in the subway cars, or busted a hole right through a wooden door to grab me.
If the 360 demo is as good as many have made it out to be, I might double-dip on this shit, just so I can play with my 360-owning friends and also play split-screen with a buddy on my incoming HDTV. It's that fucking good.
And yes, there is single-player, Kranz, but it kinda pales in comparison to playing online.
Circuit City will have the PC version for $39.99 this week
You'll have to wait until Wednesday to get it, though
Imma buy it
Demo definitely didn't sell me.
I played the one where zombies ran at me until i got bored of shooting at them.
I played co-op on whatever the default setting was. Boooooring
eh i'll just play something else. they tried though!
animal crossing is the gaming equivalent of syphilis
In all actuality i would buy left for dead if cheaper. I really don't want to buy a game that i will have fun with only when my friends are on, which considering the hours i keep is not likely to be often. I don't particularly care to play cooperatively with anyone online since most of them are racist southerners.

so is this live on steam? i'm preloading. :hyper
me me me me me
Cajole, Hypoetical, me, and some other guy finished No Mercy on Advanced. Woo! :D
Do you really need voice chat for MP? I usually play without a headset.
Thinking of picking this one up.
i can't wait for the hilarious and demented L4D mods, maps, and character skins
Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Jughead in LEFT 4 DEAD!
Is anyone going to play the PC version past a week? My brother and best friend nabbed the 360 version, along with others, but I might get the PC version if you folks will play with me? It plays pretty smoothly on my new laptop.
i bought it to play with my real-life friends in split screen
this was before i knew of the split-screen hack for pc

Why would anyone get this game for the 360 if they have a PC that can run it in the first place? Not only did Valve *not* support TF2 on the consoles at all (while at the same time releasing content regularly on the PC), but the lifespan of people actually playing TF2 on consoles was very short. Plus it's cheaper on the PC.
Are single and multiplayer the same things?
Is it retail copy's or steam and how much?
Are single and multiplayer the same things?
I think they're pretty much the same, except that the multi has some additional modes.
I just finished the first single-player campaign, which I thought going in was actually all that there was of the single player but there's really 4 more! The AI partners are kind of dumb at times and tend to lag behind, but it was still really fun and offers an awesome experience that doesn't really have a downside. Well, unless you're looking for a ton of gameplay variety.
Anyway, I need some people to play multi with now. My Steam account is GreatRumbler.

Easy:
- because all of their friends bought the console version
- because he has a shitty PC
Source runs on most rigs fine tho
Give you $30 for it
wow, this runs fuck awesome on the new laptop

As I said before: never doubt Valve guys. They may take shit for reusing old engine and postponing their games ad infinity but when they finally release a title it's OMG that good.

Dude, come play with me. My brother and I are almost always on.
If I have a Core 2 Duo at 1.8ghz x 2, 3GB of RAM and a Geforce 8400M GS with 256 MB video memory, can I run the PC version of this game at all?
Hey, are there any strategies to beating Tanks?
Whether a team makes it to the end of the level seems to depend solely on the number of tank encounters in that level.
headset I bought didnt work. Thats what I get for trying to save money and buy something cheaper

i'll add you but tbh i'm not very good at the game. i try to be helpful tho!
All headsets are garbage.
You buy these cans:

And you buy this mic:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00029MTMQ/ref=dp_olp_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1227480264&sr=8-3
Yes, I have that mic.
Just for you, buddy.Yes, I have that mic.
Schweet! Can you clip it onto your shirt collar? I read a user review claiming they couldn't clip it onto their headset cord or their shirt collar. Every other review talks about how it works great when it's clipped onto their headset cord though, so maybe that guy was just a moron.
Just for you, buddy.
The mic doesn't really have a clip, per se. There is no coil or other mechanical device that can be used to attach it to things via tension. Rather, it has two rigid pieces of plastic that you can kind of wedge shit into, and then the tightness of that wedging holds the mic in place.
User review:
The mic sticks fine on my headphone wire, which is a normal, non-corkscrew wire.
The mic, just now, stuck very snugly to one of the string things that comes out of the hood of a hoody sweatshirt.
And finally, just for you, I went and put on a collared shirt. The mic attached snugly to the portion of the collar where the seams are the thickest. The rest of the possible attachment points (like where the shirt buttons up) were too thin.
edit: If your headphones have an exceptionally thin cord, I could see the mic not staying in place. But I don't think even the cheapest pair of real cans would have a cord that thin.
i noticed that the AI never uses pipe bombs or molotovs, but they are good about healing you even if they are low on health themselves
they will set off a car alarm or alert a witch in a flat second, tho :(

I'm thinking about trading in Resistance 2 for this. Are people still in love with it or has the shine worn off?
I got it for Christmas! Who wants to play!!! :D: D: D
(later of course)
Solid details on the first batch of Left 4 Dead downloadable content should be out "shortly," according to Valve writer Chet Faliszek. But, in true Valve tradition, it appears the announcement has already been postponed, as it was expected "before Christmas."
Though details are light, Faliszek confirmed that the upcoming download will bring new scenarios, as "what we want to do is just deliver more content you can play at this point." These new scenarios will be released on the "[Xbox] 360 at the same time as the PC," instead of receiving a later Xbox 360 release a la Valve's Team Fortress 2.
Along with the "new stuff," the download will bring Versus support to the Dead Air and Death Toll campaigns, a move that will finally allow players to experience all four of the game's campaigns in the competitive mode.
Owners of the PC version can also expect the long-promised SDK at some point, which should allow for the creation of custom maps, scenarios and other mods.
"We should be announcing that before Christmas, what the DLC is," said Faliszek in a Kotaku video podcast, seemingly recorded December 15. "The holidays aren't actually so much delaying it as the press guys--[marketing VP] Doug [Lombardi]'s been taking some time. We'll have an announcement shortly, I don't know exactly when."
As for a movie editor that would let users capture and edit in-game footage--something Valve apparently hinted at in an E3 interview--Faliszek merely noted that the team wants to make sure that playable content will be "the first out--after that, I hate to speculate."
While pricing was not discussed, the new content is expected to be free for PC owners, continuing in Valve's tradition of providing PC gamers with free post-release support. However, it is uncertain if the Xbox 360 DLC will be free, as Microsoft is reportedly forcing Valve to charge for the upcoming Team Fortress 2 DLC on Xbox 360.

It's great that my years of playing CS seamlessly let me play this game at ease. Playing with you 2 last night was just the 3rd time I've played the game. I can't wait to play more tonight.
