Now what the fuck do I do with this thing?I thought you had one?
I had a 1st gen one but decided that I didn't like it after a few weeks, then switched over the the blackberry pearl, and then I decided that I didn't like that one after a day. I was just too lazy to change phones until yesterday, though. Now what the fuck do I do with this thing?I thought you had one?
It's meh. I find the functionality of the BlackBerry Curve much more to my liking.
i am a total whore for blackberryThe Blackberry Bold looks awesome.

Problem with that phone is its width. omg, so big.
I got one a couple weeks ago, and I am really liking it. It's exactly what I wanted -- a phone + iPod. Great interface, and the WiFi support is a nice bonus. I love that I can listen to music, get a call and not have to scramble to remove my headphones and answer it. Taking calls on the headphones is great too -- way better than the crappy speakers you encounter on most cell phones.
I haven't found any interesting apps yet, but the game selection is pretty cool. I would recommend "Trace" which is sorta like the Kirby DS game (you draw lines onscreen to aid platforming).
Most of the people that seem to whine about iPhones are power users that get upset that some weird little niche thing isn't supported. Which is fine and I know the feeling, but for an everyday non-business user it's really a great phone.
seriously, too big? what kind of troll hands does GG have?
alas, i have zero money for a new phone and will be stuck with an LG chocolate for the next 2 years :'(
iPhones blow. A phone is immediately a failure if it doesn't have decent battery life. In that regard, my Windows Mobile phone that I kinda totally hate is better than an iPhone. My next phone will probably be an Android.Honestly, the battery life on the latest android phone is just as bad. The 3G antennae really drains the battery life on these phones.
The iPhone highlights the major problem with Apple: they go cheap on hardware. You get a neat OS with neat functionality, but because Apple needs to cheap out on the battery, a solid portion of the attractiveness gets flushed. For just a wee bit more money, a wee bit off the margin, Apple could have made the iPhone great. Instead, it's shit. And rev 2 is even worse than the first iPhone in this regard. Apple needs to learn to readjust their hardware quality over cost ratio, because it blows right now.

Are you bitches talking about the G1 phone? Holy shit, it's cheap as fuck. Don't get it.
While I wouldn't brag about the battery life vs any other phone, my 8525 does a lot better than iPhones do, and I use 3G all the time. Apple just cheaped out on the battery.
But :( on the Android. I am on contract with AT&T for like another year, so I have to wait until they get their Android phone. Hopefully they can make the battery life better.
The AT&T 8525's battery is rated for 4 hours of talk time and up to 8.3 days of standby time. In our battery drain tests, we were able to get a solid 6 hours of talk time before calling it kaput.
One takeaway seems to be that as far as straight-up 3G talk time goes, the iPhone 3G is near the top of the range—Wirelessinfo and PC World both found it to be among the best 3G handsets they've tested for voice talk time. For mixed use and browsing numbers, the range is pretty wide, since the variables at play are nearly infinite.
