Title: I got in trouble for OVERpaying on my rent check :(

So I write one check a month for my rent + water/garbage. I dont like being bothered with looking for the water/garbage bill so I put enough extra on top of the rent so I know im overpaying the water/garbage people so much that I build up a credit with them.

Today I got a call because after doing it for a few years its suddenly confusing. They sounded mad. Im sorry I overpaid :(

You inconvenienced them for a couple minutes.  Now they'll have to fill out a form or *gasp* two and send you a check with the money back.

I had this problem with the utility company last year.

guess they hate you and your awesome job. you should buy them a get smart collection.

That happened to me recently with my cable company.

I must be doing it wrong, because my bills expect ME to pay THEM.  :-\
