Title: What the fuck- My wife got fired for someone else's indecision.
Post by: GilloD on November 13, 2008, 01:56:08 PM
So, my wife got this job like a month ago at a non-profit. The girl in her position was quitting to become a writer or some bullshit. She stuck around a week, trained my wife and then left to become the next whatever. Today, my wife's boss calls her into her office and says, "Oh, Serena decided to come back, you're FIRED".

That is fucing grade A motherfucking bullshit. FUCK YOU YOU KNOW WHO. You're organization is a sinking ship and you're a fucking distinguished mentally-challenged fellow. Congrats and managing to be a total fuckup, you shitfucking jackass. I swear o christ, If I ever see that fat fuck on the street I will SAY MEAN THINGS AND DASH ACROSS THE STREET.

That doesn't seem right at all, can she collect unemployment from them?

Non-profit stuff.

Yeah, she can collect, but it fucks with your taxes.

That definitely is not legal, but I don't know if it's really worth the trouble of petitioning the labor board and all that jazz.  Sucks, dude.  And filing for unemployment (at least in Texas) is a bitch too

they'll just find some minor technicality to say they fired her on other than the real reason

Non-profit. HR was probably the culprit.

That's legal.  There is generally a 90 day grace period where you can get fired for anything.

This. She got one week's pay. I mean. This could be a good thing, but even if it is, it's just fucked up. I just feel bad, it's been a super long and weird and awful year for her. I just want something nice to come her way

What kind of plans Tauntaun?

Going upstate a little to my parents to celebrate my mom's birthday (we're going to Cheesecake Factory :drool followed by Bond).  On Saturday I'm doing laundry and playing 40k and Sunday is church then back to Brooklyn.

This. :(

I got fired from Petco after I worked there a short time because someone scammed 40 dollars out of my drawer.

Guy comes in, buys 50-some dollars worth of stuff, pays with a hundred dollar bill, gets his change, and leaves. Then he comes back like 5 minutes later and says I have him two ones instead of two twenties. I call my manager-on-duty over, because I can't open the drawer without a sale. MOD opens the drawer and gives the guy the cash.

Of course, my register is short $40 at the end of the night. MOD gets written up for not counting the drawer before he forked over the money, but I got canned for it. And I wasn't even the one who handed the guy the money. :(

Anyway I hope your wife gets a better job soon. I also hope that person quits again and they can't find someone to replace her. That would be ace karma.
