Seriously, though, of all the "cult-ish" movies from 80s pop culture that our generation constantly references, such as Tron and The Last Starfighter, how is *batteries not included not in the mix?  I mean, I got to think it's more popular than The Dark Crystal!

Oh, I think I'm one of maybe four people that not only know that they made a film adaptation of My Pet Monster (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0400673/), but has actually seen it.  It was awesome!

... or so I remember at four-years-old.

Red Dawn is referenced far too much to be included.

Man, James Horner recycles all his stuff.  He's written like two or three cues and uses them over and over.

I agree, I got it and watched it a couple months ago. You're correct, it's not as cool as it was when I was a kid.

Oh,

Little Monsters w/ Fred Savage and Howie Mandel. :P

Flight of the Navigator
Explorers

:hyper :hyper

I find myself wanting to see Gung Ho again, even though I'm sure I'd be disgusted at its stereotyping. I liked it when they'd show it on a Saturday afternoon in the '90s.  :'(  But it was one of those first movies (along with Mr. Baseball) where I was all WOW JAPAN

The funny thing about Batteries not included is that I never watched it, yet I would always notice it at my West Coast video when looking for movies to rent.  If I'm thinking of the same movie and the box cover has some kid with an RC car or plane or something, then yeah, I have to get around to watching that.
