Title: MS sidewinder X8
Post by: Smooth Groove on November 14, 2008, 05:28:20 PM
Still looks kinda ugly compared to Logitech's gaming mice but the features are hot.

I especially liked that it's now wireless.  I love my G9 but the wire sometimes gets in the way.

Let me know if you get to check it out in advance.  Unless Logitech wows me with a new wireless mouse, the x8 will be a day 1 purchase for me.  I tend to get sick of my mouse after a year or so.

My G9 laser is already plenty fast at 3200DPI.  I don't know if Bluetrack would make that big of a difference but I'm still switching to a X8 'cause it's wireless.

Have you checked out TVC's Dinovo Edge keyboard?  It looks so sweet.  I wanna get one but it's still too expensive.

Nice.  Razer?

You guys are so hardcore.  I just use a standard MS keyboard.  Unlike mice, keyboards don't seem to vary that much in gaming performance.

I'm planning on buying this.  My only concern is that the vertical side mouse buttons are going to feel too weird after being Logitech exclusive for the past couple years.

This probably won't be my main mouse either.  I use the MX Revolution as my internet/general task mouse and switch with my Logitech G (I forget the number) for games.  This would probably be my new gaming mouse.

I use the Logitech G15 for my keyboard.  It's so damn nice and I like having a screen here.  It interacts with games too (like Crysis Warhead) but it's basically useless because you have a hud...

I like the keyboard because its very solid and has real weight to it. Plus the keys are really durable. I had the habu mouse for a bit but didnt like it, ended up getting the fancy wireless logitech mouse with the charge stand, you know that one ;)

My last two mice are the Logitech G7 and G9 and I never bothered using the side buttons.  I've yet to find a mouse that has side buttons which are useful during the heat of battle.

Do you like that fancy fast scrolling wheel in your Logitech?  That's one feature that MS should copy.  It makes scrolling through long documents so much easier.

$99 for just a mouse is a bit too pricey for me, for something I'd probably wear out in six months

can anyone rec a keyboard/mouse wireless desktop set for around $80?

Sometimes I like it, sometimes not.

I'm the complete opposite then.  I can't use a mouse without side buttons anymore.  I actually get a bit pissed off when a game doesn't let me use the side mouse buttons.

When I helped open and run a LAN center a couple years ago, we go a couple razers to put on a couple of our gaming machines with the hopes we'd sell them. Everyone hated them for being too touchy.  We had to turn the sensitivity way down. So we were stuck with $400 worth of mice. :(
