they messed with the fucking Enterprise, which is my favorite sci-fi design of ALL FUCKING TIME. Now it looks like a fucking '50s car.
Compare:

JJ Abrams, when I see this fucking trailer, I hope it's better than the Enterprise design, or I'm going to be PISSED.

errrr...what did I just watch
Pure awesome?
-
Any mirrors? file is gone.
-
Good trailer, but I am still not convinced.
-
those bridge shots look pretty jazzy... But everything is so big and blockbuster-y... I just want a stripped down, charmingly lame adventure. I only watch the the orignal series though.
-
I'm pretty much with Tee-Vee-Cee on this one, and this trailer pretty much furthers my doubts that Abrams, Orci and Kurtzman can do nothing but make "epic" narratives with overused archetypes. I imagine even if the cast finds good chemistry and I'm sure a couple will pull out decent performances, the plot will take a backseat to the spectacle and the antagonist will be half-baked (a true Abrams trademark!).
-
Bana said that his character was basically a cameo, so there must not be a lot of villain screen time.
-
Not surprising. Any antagonist will be rushed and lack any weight necessary to pose a real threat. Most of the screen time will be devoted towards setting the characters up as predestined chosen ones, "witty" comic banter, fan service and more fan service. You will get a big spectacle and a very mediocre movie - with Cheebs jumping up and down in the aisles in eager anticipation of the next installment of a likely planned Star Trek trilogy.
-
Iron Man had villain problems for the same reason. But I've got a feeling that I'm not going to enjoy the YOUNG! ANGSTY! crew origins as much as I liked watching Robert Downey Jr. drip charisma all over the screen.
-
You pretty much hit the nail on the head, Mandark - and that's one of the first things I said I didn't like about Iron Man. And I felt that movie was pretty overrated. Take away Robert Downey Jr., and you have a terribly mediocre movie.
This looks like the Smallville equivalent of Star Trek, by the way.
