no reason not to get it! :teehee
-
Steam sales are the best thing ever. :bow Valve :bow2
-
is this the source version?
i just bought it, whoa blurry textures - but the crowbar looks fantastic :lol
-
regular version. wish it had steam achievements!
-
You can put any HL1 CD-Key into Steam and get the whole HL Platinum Pack that has CS, DoD, Opposing Force, Blue Shift, Ricochet, etc. And I mean any Half-Life CD-Key, I tried a Half-Life demo that came with an old videocard, and it worked, and also used a CD-Key from Gunmen Chronicles that used the Half-Life engine and it worked too.
-
just tried my old DoD, worked just like Joe said
is that only because i bought HL, or was it always that way
oh well, it was only a buck
-
It's always been like that.
-
well, a buck for all that ain't bad even if i didn't need to spend it
should have keyed in DoD a long time ago, but i never play it
-
I have HL1 Source, since I bought the HL2 Holiday Pack back in 2005 or so (before Orange Box was announced)... haven't played it further than the second level, I really need to make a run through it.
-
I hate steam sales since they're always for games I already own. Only one I took advantage of was Bioshock.
-
Also this weekend, 50% off Sam & Max Season 1 ($14.99).
I played these on GameTap back in the day, but I never bought them. I think I'll pick them up now.
-
Will it be necessary to have this to play that Black Mesa TC that I have been seeing screenshots of?

Probably not. I think that's a Source port, so you'd actually need Half-Life 2 instead.
-
I bought that super duper hl2 steam pack whatever, so ive had it
-
I've had this game since I bought HL2 back in 2004, but I never got around to beating it despite beating HL2 and the expansions multiple times. Gonna try a run this weekend.

You are robbing yourself of the superior Half Life experience. HL2 is more The Fugitive than Half Life

Some distinguished mentally-challenged fellow at GAF was bitching that he couldn't bear playing HL due to the graphics.
He needed to be shot in the head with a cyanide tipped hollow point.
