10:00 PM EST - FX Network
In the season finale, Charlie gets the gang to help him put together a rock opera based on his song "Nightman."
Nightman was funny when it was its own tiny part of an episode, but this sounds a bit stupid to me. It reminds me of when The Simpsons started making entire episodes based around single-joke side characters like Comic Book Guy. They are taking old successes and trying to stretch them too far.
But we shall see, I suppose.

Worst preview ever.

They did Green Man more than once, why not Night Man?

read the op?

I missed it because I was out to dinner. They posted a scene on Hulu -- looks pretty bad:

They could have at least added lyrics to Dayman or something :(

This season had some good episodes but it was probably the weakest of all 4 so far. :-\
-
Wasn't that great. Meh.
-
Is that the end of the season? Ah man!
-
Just finished watching. The whole episode feels very lame and out-of-character for the show, but there were some nice highlights:
Waitress Titties mmmmmmmmmm
"You must pay the troll toll to get into this boy's hole"
"Little boy, tiny boy, I want to make love to you"
The songs themselves aren't that great, and I'm kind of disappointed in how the adaptation of Nightman/Dayman doesn't make any sense really. I guess that's supposed to be the point, but some explanation of the troll would have been nice. A scene where The Boy/Denis becomes the NightMan would have been good too.
-
It was strange how enthusiastic the gang was about his musical when normally they would have told him it was stupid.
-
It's like they sharkjumped over the sharkjump into something awesome.
-
Wait, what? He became the Night man? I thought he was just the Day man and the night man was the person who molested him as a kid. The troll was just some shit he made up about when he got molested or something.
-
I liked most of the actual musical part. They just needed a better lead in portion or something. They could have easily come up with a scheme to get recognition via community theater or something like that. The beginning and the practice portion was bad, but the play was pretty good stuff. Also didn't help that due to the practice part, we heard some of the funnier lyrics twice. We really didn't need that.

On the 4th season, and it's already completely self-referential. Season 5 is going to suck some serious ass. >:(
-
or you could watch it since you already did the hard work
-
What should I expect? prep me guys.
"It's Seinfeld on crack"
-
I can't find the episode to download :'(
why does the website have to be down today of all days

"It's Seinfeld on crack"
wow, that's a pretty bold way to put it. I think I'm ready to watch it now. :P
Who're you quoting btw?
the tagline on http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0472954/maindetails
It's really the perfect phrase to sum up the show.
-
Bore hypes show up, show becomes more popular, show suddenly starts to "suck".
hmmmm
The show does suck now, though. I've never seen a show careen into the dumps of direct pop-culture references, outrageous slapstick and focus on the absolutely absurd with such velocity before. The characters of Season 4 are caricatures of the same characters in Season 1, 2 and to a lesser extent, season 3.
-
That episode was...
wow.
Wasn't great but like was said, there were a few good moments. The "You have to pay toll to get into the boy's hole." thing was hilarious.
-
I thought Charlie telling his assistant to leave 'cause he had to talk to the talent, and telling Dennis to take a five were both pretty good.
-
The show doesn't suck yet. This season had some great episodes.
-
i will smack your face off your face :lol
-
ok, that was definitely the second worst episode
the hostage one wins because they dragged it out for so long
-
I thought it started off boring, then became awesome pre and early play, then went a bit boring by the end.
-
I gotta assume there was a lot of stuff cut from this episode.
Why is the audience predominantly the old and elderly?
Why is the original NightMan song completely excluded?
