Wait, what? I've just played the first 30 minutes or so but I only heard the normal theme in battles.omfg

There were also a few no-names on CT's "dream team" back then that have now become prolific RPG developers, like Masato Kato and Tetsuya Nomura. Mitsuda didn't really even have a name for himself before he composed for Trigger. Uematsu also composed a few tracks for the game...
I really don't think there's ever been such a prolific development team for a game since Chrono Trigger, the "dream team" still impresses me to this day. The fact that there were so many big names developing the game, as well as no-names that would become immensely popular over time (Nomura is arguably the most popular RPG dude today, yet he was only a background artist for Trigger), blows my mind.

maybe its during this optional stuff only? (some random video)
what in the fuck is up with the blurring and scanlines? another half assed port by s-e for $40 fucking dollars no lessIs it really that noticeable? I haven't seen anything yet (~30 minutes past the factory portion with Robo), but I might just be blind.
Is it really that noticeable?
There's colored treasure chests that you can get early, but if you ignore them and get them later in the future, they contain better equipment.
ah shit... ._.
EDIT: describe them more? how they differ from regular ones (their color?)
If I remember right you're supposed to unlock them in 600 AD before you open them in 1000, though. But maybe I'm wrong. That's how I always did it.

It's pretty damn easy to spot them because you can't open them until later in the game. They're black and have something that looks kind of like an open mouth with sharp teeth on them, for a lack of a better description.
ProTip - open them in 1000 AD to get the better items and then go back to 600 AD and open them again to double up on the rewards (though the items won't be quite as good the second time around).
No I know that, but in 600 AD the first time you hit A standing next to a box it unlocks it and asks you if you would like to take the item; you say no, then go to 1000 AD and open it up. But again, I don't even remember if that is necessary or not, maybe you can just open it up in 1000 AD.This was my first play through in about 10 years. A quick look at GameFAQs would probably yield the answer, but I'm lazy.If I remember right you're supposed to unlock them in 600 AD before you open them in 1000, though. But maybe I'm wrong. I'm 99.9% sure that if you open them in 600 AD, they will be gone in 1000 AD. After all, that's how time works.
I could be embarrassingly wrong, though :-\

One final general rule for sealed chests is that the ones which occur both in 600 A.D. and 1000 A.D. can be received twice, once, or twice with an upgraded form. If you open a chest in 600 A.D., you'll get the item but it won't appear in 1000 A.D. If you open a chest in 1000 A.D., you'll get its item and you can open it in 600 A.D. as well. However, if you try to open a chest in 600 A.D. and select "no" when asked if you want to open it, then try to open it in 1000 A.D. the item inside the chest will upgrade into a more powerful form. You can also then go back and get the non-upgraded item in 600 A.D. In general therefore, you should access every chest you might want to open in 600 A.D. first, get its upgraded form in 1000 A.D., then go back to get its non-upgraded form in 600 A.D. Also please note that some chests only show up in one time period, and hence have no upgradeable form.http://strategywiki.org/wiki/Chrono_Trigger/Sealed_chests
- The Black Omen just appeared, how far am I from the end-game and should I start doing sidequests. Also, from which era should I visit it from?
- Motherbrain, the dragon of reptites in the ruins, and the boss in the sun temple (all optional I think) have handed me my ass... should I grind for levels, use certain strategies or come in another time or does it have something to do with a newgame+?
lmao @ the new content
it's awful
