I like mine a lot -- really great for apartment living when youre playing rock band 2, watching an action movie, or watching an anime with an embarassing dub that makes it sound like youve kidnapped a woman
-
Holy shit, check out the screencap of the deal i just got
(http://i33.tinypic.com/2ngdl6p.jpg)
Bioshock and that shitty brain game are gifts, but the other two are for me
-
online black friday shopping is ace
-
fuck amazon, they can eat a dozen dicks, i stayed up trying to get left 4 dead for a friend
just like every other black friday scam, they probably only had 100 "in stock" for that ridiculous $20
-
wonder if east coast got the jump too
-
i'm on the east coast, it's nearly 3:30 am here, we didn't get the jump on jack shit
-
lame.
-
just took advantage of this amazon glitch to get an arcade 360 + some ddr bullshit + whatever crap they're bundling with the arcade these days for $130. will obviously dump that stuff as well as my shitty old launch unit. FREE UPGRADE, basically
-
haha, i just worked their system, if it goes through
they had the 360 arcade + DDR revolution for $199, but due to some crazy glitch it registered as $130
i took the standard shipping for $10 just to be sure (as sure as you can be about a glitch, that is)
if it works, i just paid $140 for an arcade 360 and an extra game i can sell for $40, bringing the total to $100 for a 360 arcade unit
I'm gonna let my friend have it for that price (same friend that wanted L4D for PC), to make up for getting his hopes up
that's what they get for making me stay up until 4 in the morning over short-stocked "deals"
-
yeah, that's what they get for, uh...selling me games cheap and giving me access to all these books that would otherwise be really hard to find ???
whatever, cheap stuff :rock
-
well, like i said, i'd bet anything those games and stuff they are selling cheap were short-stocked to sell out within minutes, and will miraculously be back in stock the day after this black friday deal is over - like every other BF "doorbuster" out there
also i had to mail back a dvd set i ordered and the replacement because they've taken to shipping "super saver shipping" items in crappy bubble envelopes, so that was a lot of extra hassle they still haven't reimbursed me for even though it's been two weeks
so, yay for passive-aggresive revenge over perceived slights
-
cool, they're packing it for shipping, guess they honored the glitch
all is forgiven, amazon, thanks for making my friend happy
now refund my $55 on that Little Rascals boxed set the packing guys used as a soccer ball and we're all square
-
Just got back from Wal-Mart, in search of my $128 Blu-Ray player. I got there at 3:45 AM and there was already a line about 25-30 people deep in the electronics department. Anyone that wanted any of the big ticket sale items was told to stand in it.
Over the next hour, I slowly witnessed the store descend from quiet late-night shopping into OMG WTF craziness. In the main aisles, on the outskirts of the electronics department, they had pallets of products covered in black plastic. Slowly but surely mobs began to crowd around them, waiting for the clock to strike 5 AM. As the magic hour approached, the sounds of the store went from eerily quiet to a deafening cacophony. Once the veils were finally lifted on the wrapped pallets, throngs of crazed shoppers began to descend on them. They devoured everything within minutes, loading shopping carts full of $50 portable DVD players, $10 DVDs, and cheap digital cameras. Stacks of merchandise were reduced to little more than cheap packing cardboard faster than I could blink an eye.
All the while, I stood patiently in a slow-moving but well-organized line. By the time the sale started the number of people in line had easily tripled. As the store got louder and louder and the aisles got more and more clogged, I became palpably afraid. I don't know exactly what I was fearful of.....a riot breaking out when they ran out of some highly prized sale item? The line disintegrating as everyone decided to mob the electronics register? All I really knew is that with this many people and this much energy, it wouldn't take much to make things go awry.
The cheapass Garmin GPS seemed to be what most people wanted; I didn't hear anyone else in line mention the words "Blu-Ray" at all. But I watched people leaving the line, and several of them had purchased the Magnavox Blu-Ray player I desired. Some of them had 2-3 players in their cart -- why didn't they have a 1 per customer limit for this sort of thing? I moved up in line and found myself in an aisle where my view of the registers was obscured. I couldn't tell when or if they would run out of players, but could only hope they'd tell me when they ran out so I wouldn't get stuck waiting on something that was out of stock.
Eventually I reached the register and asked for "the Magnavox". The clerk reached under the counter, pulled one out, and rang me up quickly. I loaded it into my cart and all I wanted was to get the hell out of there as fast as possible. I spent 5-10 minutes navigating my way behind people who randomly stopped and inspected useless baubles, blocking the aisle with their massive shopping carts. Eventually I made it out the front door and made away safely into the night.
One present down. Ten to go.

after working black fridays at staples I dont even go near a store day after thanksgiving
-
Dammit. I woke up this morning hoping to get the 20 dollar deal on Left 4 Dead at Amazon....fuckers. At least I got Bioshock on PC for 10. I don't know how anyone would go out and deal with all those fuckers this early in the morning just for a small deal.
-
money is tighter for people this year so I kinda get it, then again people can get books for christmas and like it :maf
-
Yeah I get it too...but I had to work all day on Thanksgiving dealing with people who can't plan a day ahead to purchase the wine they need for dinner. You wouldn't believe how many people had to rub it in my face that I was working on Thanksgiving. I am just burned out on people right now. :(
Shopping online, however, is ace.
-
"OH UR WORKING TODAY? THATZ 2 BAD! HA HA HA! HEY HEY! HEY! YOU HAVE YOURSELF A GOOD REST 2NITE!"
-
Exactly.
Why the fuck do people have to do that shit?
Well at least I go to kick out 7 people at close...gave the fuckers fair warning too! :maf
Does anyone think they will reactivate the L4D deal at Amazon? I really want it for my new pc....I only bought the 360 version because of a couple of friends in town who don't play computer games.
-
What kind of Black Friday rush did you used to see at Staples? I went by Office Depot after Wal-Mart, and was aghast to see 50-75 people lined up outside. It's Office Depot, for crying out loud! Can the deals on printers really be that good?
-
huge rush, big sellers were always laptops and monitors and mp3 players and crap like that. I usually worked the 6am-6pm shift but got Saturday and Sunday off :D

If you can avoid getting killed.
-
I went to Hastings and found a couple of awesome deals:
Ridge Racer 6 new for $4.99
Blue Dragon new for $9.99
-
On top of being one of the few to get L4D for only $20, I also ordered an 8GB memory stick from Fry's for only $30 shipped. what an awesome day, I got about half of my christmas shopping finished plus some great deals for myself.
-
Got Tales of Vesperia for $19.52 from Gamefly. :rock
-
This is the last time I'll wait in a long line for anything.
My friends were waiting at Fry's since 11:00 P.M. So I joined them 40 minutes before the store opening at 5:00 A.M. We traded some Fry's ads that were delivered to the gas station at 3:30 to get into the front 50 people (out of about 1,000) so we though we were all going to get at least one thing that we wanted. Except EVERYBODY went for the same laptop deal. When the doors opened, some sort of roid rage caused everybody to be crushed. I couldn't even move my feet forward. Eventually, when we got inside, about 50 people were in line for the laptops. After about 20 minutes, they were ALL sold out. Not even a mouse that I wanted was still in stock.
Later, at 6:00, I went to a Staples and walked in right when the store opened (less than 100 people in line). I got a 640 GB external HDD ($70), decent mouse ($13), and a 8 GB flash drive ($15) for $100 so I was happy. It was amazing to me how nobody tried pushing or running, or any of that insane shit.
I'm convinced that only maybe 1% of the people who shop on Black Friday shop for something that they actually need to replace/upgrade to. The rest just want to sell it off or brag about the deal that they got.
-
my $130 arcade + ddr shipped :teehee
-
they've shipped my DDR, but not the 360
nice of them to separate the boxes for me, because i am pretty much just going to tear off the mailing label, take out the packing slip, and seal it back up for ebay
-
I held off on buying anything this year. I was tempted on the Brothers in Arms for $18 and Far Cry 2 for $38, but I'm soooo backlogged with winter titles, who knows if I'd ever play them and then it'd just be a waste of money. I feel like I've already wasted too much money on games this winter from impulse purchasing >_< need to put the foot down sometimes.
/goes off to buy PoP on Wed :(
-
I didn't go out for Black Friday this year, because I already have a Wii and Wii Fit (for eBay :)). Nothing I really need that would be on sale right now, either.
-
The game deals don't work out for Canadians :'(
brothers in arms for 20? more like 53 after handling and import fees :'( :'( :'(
-
No "Black Friday" up here in Soviet Canuckistan, but I bought this:

The only black friday thing about this was a shitty artbook i got with it. Gamestop was packed, considering they had shit for 'deals' goin on.
-
they still haven't shipped my cheap glitchy 360
c'mon amazon, don't fuck me on this
or you will feel the intense whining of my emasculated passive-aggresive wrath
-
my black friday lesson: never buy another fall release game at full price ever again
-
my black friday lesson: never buy another fall release game at full price ever again
I only bought like two new games between july and now (WAR:CE and King's Bounty) and hooo have I made out like a bandit this black friday. Buying new pc hardware is also a big no-no before this time of year.
-
my black friday lesson: never buy another fall release game at full price ever again
Seriously. I haven't even played some I bought and they are already 3/4th to half the price.
-
GameFly :wub

You didn't get in on some of those $3.99 UMDs?! :teehee
-
I got an iPod touch from Amazon. 199 for the 16GB model, why not.
-
I just ordered NBA 09 for the PS3 for free. It's currently $9.95 but if you use the code NBA09PS3 at the checkout, it knocks off $10 and makes it free.
http://www.amazon.com/NBA-09-Inside-Playstation-3/dp/B001CPBLLE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1227956889&sr=1-1
SCRATCH THAT, DEAL IS DEAD WITHIN AN HOUR.
-
I just picked up Far Cry 2 on PS3 for $25.99 at amazon, so that's one game I waited on that worked out well for me
-
Sonic Unleashed is 25.95 on the 360, if you use the code UNLEASH5 you get five dollars off
so, that's another
thinking about Pure on PC for $9.95, but I dunno
-
God damnit, that is around $60 I've spent on games and DVDs this holiday. I'm done spending money on this shit for the year. I'm not cut out to be a MAF-like buyer.
Sonic Unleashed is 25.95 on the 360, if you use the code UNLEASH5 you get five dollars off
Thanks for the heads up.
$20 for this game seems like a good deal.

Got Sonic for $20. Probably not worth it, but I bought Sonic Secret of Rings at full price so I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed
-
just picked up
(http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51ek%2BlM5IIL._SS500_.jpg)

thinking about Pure on PC for $9.95, but I dunno
Pure (PC) is down to $4.95 now, wtf. :lol Far Cry 2 (PC) is $18. Black Friday just keeps giving all weekend long.
-
Thanks in part to a drunken shopping trip with DC, i got:
Tomb Raider: Underworld
Far Cry 2 (both 360)
wall-e BR
Hori arcade stick for 360
i really need to pile all my recent purchases up and take a pic or two. i'm approaching DC/Maf levels of silliness
-
Well on my large order from Amazon, that included two gifts, the estimated ship date is the 18th with the delivery date being the 23rd. The order that I placed the following day, which was only one item, has already shipped. If I had known Amazon were going to be distinguished mentally-challenged when it comes to shipping, I would have placed 4 separate orders instead of one big one :-\. Hopefully it gets here before Christmas.
-
Guitar Hero 3 bundle for 360 is $45 on amazon, just snagged it for the guitar
now i have 2 wireless guitars, and i can flip the game on ebay for $20
$25 brand-new wireless guitar, if i had foreseen this i never would have bought guitar hero world tour
so far, i've bought:
360 glitch bundle = $140
Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 Collector's Edition = $40
Sonic Unleashed = $21
Far Cry 2 = $26
2 copies of Warhawk = $30
GH3 Bundle = $45
The 360 glitch deal and SD vs. Raw were for friends who'll pay me when they get here. The 2 copies of Warhawk were for gifts for my 2 PS3-owning friends. The rest was for me.
unless there's something else amazing over the next couple of weeks, i think i'm done for the season
-
Here's my total haul over the weekend.
Guild Wars - $5
Guild Wars: Eye of the North - $5
NBA '09 The Inside - $0
Painkiller Gold Edition (Steam) - $10
Spore - $20
Spore Creepy and Cute Parts Pack - $5
Titan Quest and Titan Quest: Immortal Throne (Steam) - $10
-
:lol you got all that for $5 less than a new game
i feel like such a chump for buying all my games at full price over the last couple of months :(
-

:D Online Black Friday rocked so hard. Painkiller wasn't even a deal but I remembered it being really awesome so I figured I'd buy it with the weekend Titan Quest deal.
Let us know how Sonic Unleashed is!
-
i predict "meh" on sonic, but hey, $21 for a game that's only been out for two weeks is a game i can't complain about
the one i'm looking forward to most is far cry 2, and of course that's the one they haven't shipped yet :lol

That's no good. My free copy of NBA 09 hasn't shipped yet either so I'm a bit worried about that. Far Cry 2 rocks! I need to play more of it so I can get to the second map.
-
oh, they'll ship it, don't worry, they probably just a had a flood of people taking advantage of that coupon
took them a while to get to my 360, but they honored it
