Title: Anyone know a good place to sell old baseball cards?
Post by: Green Man on November 28, 2008, 04:31:17 PM
I found a bunch of them in the attic and I'd like to sell them. I have Football and Basketball cards too. All of them appear to be from 1990 and back, though I'm not sure if that means anything.

They're probably worthless. It's like what happened with comic books, they blew up real big in the 90's and everything one thought "OMG these are going to be worth a lot some day!" and so companies flooded the market, and now none of them are worth crap.

Just look up "Mark MacGuire Rookie Card" on Ebay. There are tons with zero bids and $1 starting prices that end in like a day. Maybe if you have a specific one in mint condition, it might be worth a few dollars, if you can find someone to buy it.

Baseball and Football cards were a form of currency for me and my neighborhood back in the mid 80's.

I sold a bunch of shitty cards from the 90's to a coworker for $50... I still have my "valuable" cards - including Bo Jackson rookie, Barry Bonds rookie, etc. sitting in a box in my basement. Used to be a big baseball card collector when I was little.

Owned

definitely owned...then again, sounds like we all got fucking owned.  McGwire rookie cards, like the Topps 1985 team usa shit, were going for ridiculous prices when he was on the way to breaking the record.  For maximum lols, compare his rookie card pics to his present pics.  Guy used to be a twig  :-\

Well, maybe all these Shaq rookies I have will be worth something someday.

Remember when a holifoil Charizard card 1st edition (which I owned) went for like $125? Yeah...worthless now.

I fell into the "save your pokecards because some day they will be worth lots" with those AND BEANIE BABIES :( Oh god I feel so bad for my mother, she spent like 2 grand on beanie babys for me that are now worth like $10 :(

That would be the Princess Diana beanie baby bear, and there was two kinds produced. One used the regular beanie filling which isn't worth as much as the other one, which used a special filling.

I infact do own a Princess Diana bear, along with a few other bears.
