I guess my post kinda gave the wrong idea in my rush to paraphrase the ego-stroking bits. We mostly had an actual legitimate, reasonably intelligent conversation, her few ego stroking remarks were kind of anomalous. But she's a folk/hippie singer-songwriter, which I guess gives you a license to say odd gushy things from time to time.

Sure, in a week, drop one line through a myspace PM and just put it out there that you wouldn't mind hanging out with her again. If she doesn't write back (or doesn't seem happy about the note), it wasn't meant to be and leave it at that...though if she does write something like "quit stalking me" then apologize and let it be known you won't try writing again after that. If you had a good, long conversation with someone, ensuring that you're not a random stalker, I think trying to contact them once through something like myspace or facebook is fair game. that's practically what those sites were made for. I've reconnected with some people that I've forgotten to exchange info with that way with no problems. Of course, she's supposed to call you. Give it a week or more, then drop a light message. nothing you can lose with that.
On the other hand, googling a work email address or something like that, where they know you had to search hard to get it, is probably less appropriate.

yeah, I think this situation is slightly different. she never did give me her full name though, so I had to use a bit of ingenuity to find her (googled her first name + the name of a cafe she'd mentioned she'd played recently) which makes it a bit more stalkerish.

also the other reason I messaged her, beyond her being hawt and all, is that she had the out-of-context Marx opiate of the people quote on her FB profile and whenever I see someone quote that I always suspect she hasn't actually read Marx and isn't aware of the context that line is in, which makes it way more interesting imo, so I always want to show her the context. So I did.
