Title: What is the best netbook?

Is it the MSI Wind?

Oh I'd also probably want to throw another gig of RAM in there.

Do they make any of these with touchscreens yet?  Trackpads are such a nightmare.

MSI Wind. You can pretend to be a :tophat and install OSX on it even. Easy as shit to upgrade too.

I would look into the Samsung NC10; it's purdy.

Would you recomend the wind over the acer? the acer one is sexy looking and has a great screen. I'm looking for a netbook or laptop for the living room.

Didn't like the Acer when I had it (returned it after a month, felt too plasticy and chinsey for my tastes). Buyer beware too, you need to open up THE WHOLE THING to upgrade the RAM on it instead of having a small window you just unscrew.

But if you like the Acer's size (8.9") I would also look at the EEE 900HA.

wind have led backlit and 6 cell battery? Just wondering I'm pretty new to the whole netbook scene. I was gonna wait for the n570 (dualcore) but I heard they suck and aren't as powerful as the single core.

Is there a brick and mortar retailer that stocks enough of these for me to actually try them out? BestBuy has like 3 models.

LED Backlights for the screen? Yep. Watch out though cause they make both 3- and 6-cell versions of the notebook.

Some Targets have various netbooks on display and I believe Microcenter Fry's and even Costco have them too.

Yeah I saw the Acer at frys and fell in love a few days ago. Then saw the eee, lenovo, and hp mini note at microcenter right next to work. I don't like those three at all, hp was nice but slow (via version) and eee just felt cheap as crap. I'm looking for the wind right now near my area might go check out microcenter again and see if they will open one up and let me try it out before walking away with it.
