not surprising, the grammys have been a waste for as long as i can remember.  no reason to pay attention to them now.

Who cares about the Grammys?

But, I'd love to see Radiohead win it after they got robbed back in 1997 for OK Computer.

What do you guys expect?  They want ratings, so they are going nominate what's selling.  They've been getting killed in the ratings for years by AMAs for not being mainstream.  That's business 101.

i don't think i'd even go to the grammies if i was a nominated artist

Well, Death Magnetic and Consolers of the Lonely are both fantastic albums, so that's good. Is In Rainbows not considered rock?

Does not compute.   :maf

The Grammys are already shit. Don't expect Radiohead to win shit.

And you heard it hear first: I know there are several categories where both Death Cab and Radiohead are nominated. Radiohead should win every category. They had the better album this past year. Narrow Stairs is somewhat good (by that I mean only three or four tracks) but
 :bow IN RAINBOWS :bow2

Honestly, every year Radiohead doesn't win is just more proof to me that Radiohead is an amazing band. I mean, for a band to not sell out shitloads of albums and continue to be nominated for Album of the Year is an achievement in itself, considering that the Grammys are a fucking shithole of mediocrity.

An awards show for mediocre to poor music. smh

Best album of the year should be renamed to "Least Shittiest".

But In Rainbows is not shitty

Also, I'm pretty sure the Beatles and Dylan never won proper Grammys until later in their careers.  Fuck, I tink the only thing the Beatles won for was Love, which was a remix album.

If Tha Carter III wins either best album or best rap album, I will cry myself to sleep and probably never buy an album again, ever.

Had to bump this. Rolling Stone had some "experts" pick who should win the various big awards and...yea

Quote
PATRICK STUMP In 20 years, Lil Wayne is one of those people we'll remember. If there was any album that defined the year, it was his.

Quote
PATRICK STUMP "Viva la Vida" should win because you know you've struck a nerve when you make Joe Satriani accuse you of stealing his song. Coldplay naturally has melodies you recognize immediately.

Quote
GIRL TALK Tha Carter III is going to be considered a classic from this decade, and Lil Wayne cultivated something else outside of music with it by being such a rock star.

Quote
NICK JONAS There are so many singles on Paper Trail — it's one of those albums where every song is great. And I like how T.I.'s captured being able to put meaningful things into his lyrics.

Quote
PATRICK STUMP Will.i.am doesn't get enough credit, but he's a sophisticated producer. The chord changes on "American Boy" are pure class.
(chosen over fucking Danger Mouse)

I know in 20 years I'm still going to be talking about Lil Wayne.

I've always thought common consensus was that Lil Wayne was a mediocre rapper with an annoying voice, and that the only reason he's popular nowadays is because the rest of rap is in such a dire state.

Kings of Leon bored me, I'm afraid. Only listened to it once, didn't hear anything unique enough to make me want to go back. Generic shouty choruses :(
