Title: I have a sudden urge to write vampire fiction.

It will basically be a cross between Tolstoy and Kafka but with vampires and more sex.  Should I go for it?

Oh right, that reminds me. Since I don't have much experience myself I'll have to find a technical consultant for the sex scenes.  Anyone interested?

a sex scene would at any rate cause a cross between tolstoy and kafka to die in a compound spasm of existential horror and warped christian morality, so i think you're good

I had an idea for a vampire novel [well, two actually], but I doubt that I'll ever get around to actually writing either of them.

I've never read any vampire books, but I've seen all of Buffy and Angel which I figure should give me genre background enough.

So I'm thinking I'm actually going to go through with this.  That doesn't mean I actually will, since I never go through with anything, but it's my current plan.  I have a theme and a few characters and relationships set up in my notes, and a few scenes and passages written, but don't yet have a plot per se.

Do it, man. I'll probably never finish my story about an editor who falls in love with Ayn Rand, but it's been fun doing a couple of chapters.

Yeah, I'll serialize the chapters on the internet as I write them since I'll probably never complete the whole book or whatever anyway.

I had a dream that my friends wanted to become vampires because they live forever and all they had to do is drink vampire blood - a quick, painless process.  But when they went to intiation night they were sodomized and tore into pieces and just died. :lol

Yeah, I dunno what audience, if any, this is likely to draw.  It won't get me any groupies, that's for sure.  The relationship stuff I have sketched is all pretty unpleasant.
