Two weeks of waiting for that final interview :'( I'm glad I've saved up because the "freelance work" my former employer offered me is fucking insulting. $8.65 an hour? Fuck you, I can bag groceries for much higher than that shit.
-
yikes, thats worthless
-
But you make your own hours! Freelance!

WHERE I'D KILL FOR 8.65/HR
KILL

Totally not worth it, especially if you see the incompetent morons I have to work with. Worst of all is this fucking cunt who thinks she can do MY fucking job. WELL FUCK YOU BITCH, I TAUGHT YOU ALL YOU KNOW.
I'm thinking of doing freelance DB/web programming but I don't know where to start. :( Craigslist looks promising however.

I work at Wal-Mart.
-
For what it's worth I live in California so that's just a couple cents more than minimum wage.

haha yea, finding a non-managerial job that requires no degree that will pay more than that is hard as hell here, unless you want to work the overnight shift at a factory or something
-
Hopefully this IT staffing agency places me somewhere. I'm meeting with the guy again this Tuesday (going to take some basic IT, Server and Exchange aptitude tests). He says that he could place me somewhere for $15-$16/Hour :o . This is coming from a year working Security, 3rd shift at $10/Hour :'(

A living wage for place like seattle is around 13-14 dollars an hour. That will allow you to have your own apartment at least. There's nothing worse than being like 28 and still with a roommate- and im not saying you should be ashamed, but I can guess most people arent happy in that living situation
-
Seattle has a living wage? Is that just Seattle proper, or all of King county?
-
Actually im not being specific, and actually am probably wrong the closer you get to Seattle. Im talking greater Seattle area, where the living wage is much lower. I think when youre actually inside Seattle youre kinda fucked unless youre locked in a career.

I work at Wal-Mart.
I would kill someone to work at Wal-Mart right now. I've been applying at every retail/grocery chain hiring for the last 2 months to no avail :'(

$8.65 an hour? What would you do there if you decided to get the job?

Basically they want me to do some e-marketing shit that they can't do so I need to build all the emails and stuff. Plus I think they wanted me to design a couple more websites.
The only reason I'm hesitating is (1) considering my skill set and how they handled laying me off, that's an insulting offer to put down, and (2) the workplace is TOXIC as shit; hated every single day of working there (I could honestly go on and on about how fucking miserable they treated me and my ignorance of labor laws here in America), and (3) I'm holding out for a couple of promising offers elsewhere, in fact one pays like triple of what I used to make :drool
