last year a company did some pretty good comic book versions of these with the full text.

can't be bothered to look them up, but the mangnafication of everything is just obnoxious

Unlike traditional manga, these books read front to back and left to right, the way you're used to reading.

wait, so this is targeted as people both insecure about reading Shakespeare and insecure about reading manga too?

I think comic book versions of plays are a good idea, actually.  Plays are (at least optionally) meant to be staged, so here's a way to put the staging right on the page.

No, it means these are made in the west for westerners pretending to be Japanese.
I can't even begin to imagine how fucked up these would be if some Japanese company made them.

lolis and tentacles ahoy!

The fact that they made this a bullet point:

Text is greatly abridged, so reading these isn't tedious torture.

worries me.

It's a sad commentary on the state of literacy and education in this country. But I guess it's something that people are at least being exposed to Shakespeare.

Hell, I even thought She's The Man was okay, but maybe only cause I have an inexplicable crush on Amanda Byrnes dressed as a young boy.

if it reads left-to-right, doesn't that mean it's just a regular comic book/graphic novel?  I guess manga does better in the U.S. than I thought...

at first I was like "maybe this is amusing" then I saw it's for real and they're selling it.   :'(

I don't understand this "even though" you talk of.

The Sailors once sang: "Small hips, no tits - girls who look like boys, they really are the shit".
