But anyway, thanks for the kind words, peeps. There's a bunch of developers here in L.A. fortunately, that I could apply at. My boss said he could possibly pull some strings for a fairly bigger company that he used to work at, so we'll see how that goes.

But fuck, I hate having to look for jobs again.  :(

Dude don't you like get paid like shit? Game testing? Not to mention the environment in which you work...

Do you actually like it? I get the impression that monetarily and socially, it's a pretty shitty job to have.

The pay's not super fantastic, but for a guy still in college, it definitely pays the bills rather well. 40 hour weeks plus plenty of opportunity for overtime. We don't work on games that Gaffers or EBers would be jizzing over -in fact it's quite the opposite :lol - but it actually has its benefits since the games are very easy to test for long periods of time. Plus, everything was extremely laid back, and you could almost set your own hours pretty much.

As far as upward mobility, this place is actually seemingly great for that too. (buncha people got promoted from testing to higher level stuff within a year).

Okay, some good news. Turns out that I won't be leaving Friday as I thought. That was clarified to be for some of the other employees (mainly artists and programmers). So for now, I'm safe til January. Might not be much, but I'll take what I can, dang it!

man 2008 has been crazy.

Get excellent job in may start in june.

August rolls around things are great then my mother suddenly passes away (single child)

Then October happens and I come down with pneumonia and have to be rushed to hospital $9,000 later I get better.

And now this :(

Well, some good news after a week of utter disappointment. I contacted a friend of mine, who happens to be an editor at a pretty big post production facility (it was actually one I was working at earlier in the year). Turns out he's got a new project coming around January, and said he'd need some help. So looks like I gots me another job. Though at the same time I'm still a bit sad that this current thing didn't work out. I was movin on up to. :(

But aw well, the important thing right now is to make sure I don't become homeless, so dreams will hafta wait.
