Can't see this keeping anything other than a bored housecat and Shane Bettenhausen amused for more than 5 mins.

I am not confident that they Found the Fun
or indeed, the RSX

I imagine that they've given the Katamari guy free reign and a small team and are now figuring out exactly what the hell to do with whatever adorable/unclassifiable widget he spent three years making for them. I also imagine the development team being delightfully eccentric and their office has bright foamy walls so they can run around and play without hurting themselves.
There will be micropayments later on, and it will probably be reviewed well and cheap enough to draw a crowd. The soundtrack alone will probably be worth picking it up for. I could rag on this, but hey, it could be fun, and the creator earned my trust already. I'm up for it.

Why am I only hearing of this game now? I must now sell all of my possessions in hopes of being able to afford a PS3. :(

back when the Wii was announced he said that having a new control scheme wouldn't mean more creative and new game experiences
-
I'm interested. Does anyone know how the gameplay works?

Sometimes you guys try to hard to hate on everything.
It's a new game by the guy who gave one of the better original titles last gen with clean jaggy-free graphics, a colorful unique style and it costs the price of dinner out at night and 1/6th the price of Katamari on X360.
If the gameplay is good like KD, it could easily be one of the best XBLA/PSN titles.
PS. Show me these XBLA/PSN titles for $10 or less that look like Gears 2. The whole point of XBLA/PSN is to have simple graphics to keep development costs down and prices down. This isn't a new thing.

So fucking random and bizarre.
I must have it.

These type of projects intrigues me. I always wonder whether their creators have a clear idea of what the concept would be or if they tell their teams "Ok, random ideas everyone! just say anything crazy that comes to mind!"
Weed must be involved somehow.
Mushrooms.
Weird will get you sent to prison in Japan.
-
Sounds pretty interesting to me. I'm not ready to go auto-pilot hate on this yet. The concept sounds kinda cool.
-
yeah, the game is obviously some drug filled creation.

also, he wants to make playground equipment for a living.
GS: What do you think of the Wii?
KT(him): I'm not really interested in it. I don't think a controller should have that much influence on the enjoyment of games. I see what [Nintendo is] trying to do, but they're putting such emphasis on the controller; 'Woah, this controller lets you do this!' and I'm thinking - are you messing with us? So, there's nothing I really want to do with it right now.

It's got pigs riding on rainbow colored sandworms, seems like GOTY.

that thing looks like it belongs in requiem for a dream

I'm guessing this is going to be the PSN generation's equivalent of when I used to get stoned and play Uniracers on SNES.
-
you guys didnt actually like Katamari did you? i always assumed it was like some sort of inside joke. "ha ha! dude, you should play katamari. it totally rocks!" but you say it after some mention of a horrible game, like mass effect, in a sarcastic tone of voice.
... am i missing out on the joke? it is a joke right?
-
Whenever I have no idea what's going on in a game, I find myself wanting whatever it is. This is no exception. I want in.
And yeah, I loved Katamari.

Katamari is actually good game. It's a puzzle game wrapped in drugged up scenery.
-
Yeah, I loved Katamari. I only played the second one, and I'll probably never buy the 360 one, but I enjoyed what I played of it. The King is hilarious. Soundtrack fucking rules too.

The PS2 games were brilliant, and so was the PSP version, even with it's borked control scheme. Never played Beautiful Katamari, though...
-
stretch your body? sounds like snake + katamari. not very interesting
-
is there a gameplay trailer somewhere? everything ive seen so far on the game makes it look dumb and appealing only to someone high.

Katamari the first one is awesome. The 2nd one is better but it has the "more of the same, but better" effect so it's not as good. The PSP one kind of sucks and I didn't play the X360 one being the price was insane.
-
Not only was it too expensive, but also too short and too ugly. Avoid.
I still enjoyed K1 the most. Since it was fresh and new when it was released. Liked K2 too, but it was indeed more of the same.
Never played the PsP version.

Love quirky games like this, it's definitely on my radar... hopefully it'll be more interesting than Stretch Panic.

I like how his games are about horribly murdering happy people. Especially happy children. :lol

Katamari the first one is awesome. The 2nd one is better but it has the "more of the same, but better" effect so it's not as good.

ESRB has rated Noby Noby. Here's their description of the game:
This is a puzzle game in which players control a large snake-like creature whose objective is to grow by gobbling up objects (e.g., mailboxes, small animals, houses, etc.). Players advance in the game by growing the creature as big as possible and then reporting its length to a character in space. Consumed objects sometimes pop out of the snake's rear end, making a comical "splat" sound.
-
It sounds kind of like that snake game on cell phones.
-
a comical "splat" sound, wow. videogames can't get any better than this.
-
sounds like something sony distinguished mentally-challenged fellows to get excited for. bubble bobble!!!!!!!!!!!
