Hey cockmasters. :lol
I just finished a new song, Himuro told me to post it in a thread. I might have adjust the levels a little bit, but that's sort of why I'm posting it to you guys, let me know how it sounds, the levels, etc.
03 - Eric James - Now ya know.mp3 - 3.99MB (http://www.zshare.net/audio/527827984b1d17d2/)
It's much appreciated. :) Thanks!
Ah, FYI. It was only me on every verse. My voice got horse on the second 2 verses from being to stoned. I mention it in the second verse freestyle. Ugh. :lol
-
second verse wtf :lol
Is this a freestyle? The verses sound like place holders mang :-\
-
I love this beat but man I'm having trouble hearing you over it. You definitely sound high. :lol And the second verse is lol
Lil Pope > Lil Wayne
-
Yeah, I wasn't sure w/ the levels. I was even having an issue hearing it in the car, but in my headphones it works fine. I'll re-adjust the levels.
As for the verses, it was a freestyle, but then randomly i would write a few things in, I thought sort of the same. I was trying to figure something out to flow better and more consistent, I even tried tinkering around w/ back vocals and what not to try and make the verses sound more full. The beginning of the second verse was written, but I couldn't figure anything else to write after that, so I said fuck it and freestyled it.
I was ripped when putting this together. :P Sober for the most when mixing it.
The chorus is catchy though. :P

Do you often do your music high?
-
he be blazin' all the time yo

Do you often do your music high?
Depends really. Why? :lol

it just reminds me of illmatic because it feels like every other song, Nas is totally stoned and I'm like "wtf is he saying haha"

Not bad son, not bad.
Thank you, I'll re-up the new one soon. :) I'm already in the works on another song. Just trying to pump out as many as possible before I move.
-
I didn't know you were into this stuff, I'm curious for more now :)
I have a tune on my myspace. www.myspace.com/lordmaji | It's called "Looking for the Cid" if you're interested.
-
:lol :lol on another note. The rapper Grandaddy Souf has gotten a hold of me. So that's pretty damn cool. :) woot woot!
-
I learned so much from your Myspace , like youre not a fat black kid.
I like the newer track more btw, although I can hear the lyrics on this one more clearly.
Yeah, I'm going to re-adjust the levels tonight and add a few more things and it'll be up tomorrow. I'm probably going to lay the chorus for a new song tonight also. You thought I was a fat black kid? :lol It's all good man.
I have some other stuff on my www.myspace.com/projectdreamwake
I do all kinds of different stuff, but focusing on rap at the moment, mainly because I've gotten a lot of positive comments about it. But I don't mind doing all kinds of music. :)
-
Alright, here is the an adjusted version of the song. I hope I got it correct this time.
03 - Eric James - Now ya know.mp3 - 3.95MB (http://www.zshare.net/audio/52883683a06e3408/)
Opinions are strongly welcomed. :)
I'll have the myspace version up later today.

Sounds like you added more autotune but the verses kinda sound the same. Chorus is cool but the verses...eh not feelin the flow mang

:( I didn't use too much auto tune in the verses, what I did do is double up the vocals and pitch shifted the second vocal to give it a fuller vibe... I think I could do something to make the verses pop out more, but i dunno. re-write the verses completely PD?
-
I can hear you now!
I agree the verses need a lil work, but it's not so bad considering it's a free style. I know free styles can be hard as shit, can't they? What's it like to free style? I can't imagine me being too good at it.
Now this version is much better than the first one.
-
I listened to both versions, I didn't have a problem with first's levels (through headphones). In the second you sound much better (ie clearer). I didn't notice more autotune than what was in the first.
Anyhow, I'm not a big fan of genre so don't take my word for it, but I thought it was good, up until the last part at least :P.
The ummm flow(?) fell apart at two points, but that was it.
EDIT: When I heard you like to record music I had no idea it was rap. lol
I do all kinds of music really. Rap is just something I'm focusing on at the moment. I was in a punk/metal band for a few years, then I did Ambient/Nature type music for awhile. I've written lyrics for Folk tunes, country songs, & psychedelic rock. I do whatever I feel like at that moment really.

Picture of me when I was in Menophobia (punk/metal band)
- FYI, I had a wife beater shirt on under because I just had my nipples pierced the day before. :P
I've been getting a lot of good reviews from the rap stuff, so I decided to sort of focus on it and put together an EP and see what happens.
Himuro: Freestylin can be hard, especially if you can't think of shit to say. But like anything it's something that takes practice. I personally think I suck at it, but I know I'm getting better and better the more I do it.
Sometimes though, I'll be in a mood and like no matter what beat I hear I can freestyle over it and rock it out, but that tends to happen rarely and usually when I'm not around my studio. It's only happened twice when I was in the studio. The last time it happened, I freestyled 20 + songs that night. I really need to go back and scope some of those out.
Over all though, it's a lot of fun to do. :) I enjoy it a lot, I really like tweaking with shit and editing it within Sonar. The mixing part of it is great imo. :)

Man... is it possible someone can make the lettering/text/words look a shit ton better? I might use something like this as a potential mixtape cover."Movin' South" (Mixtape)
I suck at photoshop

I can do some work for ya

I can do some work for ya
That'd be awesome. :)
Hey, anyone want to get on the beginning on either verse 1 or verse 2 of this song? "Bad Guy". If not, it's cool. I can finish it up. I was just curious. :)
I forgot to cut out my shitty freestyle over it. But I can upload the 1 w/ out later. Just want to see if anyone wanted to. It's a small verse part. But it's not bad. The song is fun at least. Of course, not done. :P But It's close.
04 - Bad Guy.mp3 - 7.32MB (http://www.zshare.net/audio/534976403261874e/)
Enjoy. :)
