hopefully I've gotten this out of my system
the weird thing is I don't feel sick, just tired as fuck
-
Niiiiiiiice.
-
went through the same thing last week. had to miss a day of work because of it, too :maf
-
Wow. Jesus. I thought I had bad sleeping patterns sleeping in until 3 every day.
-
ugh, an hour later and I'm tired again
I must have the space AIDS
I leave my game collection to Prole and my music to Eric P
-
Could be that you're a narco leptic or caught some other kind of sickness. I've heard of people catching some kind of bactiria/illness that makes them really tired.
If it doesn't go away, go see a doctor.
-
:(
maybe you cought mono or something from the teens at a concert? Any fever or other symptoms?
edit: mono not bono, lol

I do feel like donating to Africa-based charities...
I was really chilly on Thursday and kept taking hot baths. But I don't have a stuffy nose or cough or fever.
-
I assumed you had a long week, and was catching up. Those kinds of long sleep are awesome.
If it's just out of the blue, you might want to get it checked out...

That's actually a hell of a lot of sleep for just catching up after a long week or even month of work.
I'd say get out of the house and do some shopping, go out to dinner, see a movie, or something. It's easy to fall right back asleep if you're just hanging around the house.

I did that after a crazy month work, followed up by a alcohol filled vacation.
15 hours of sleep, ended by somebody waking me up.

yeah, sounds good. maybe I'll drive to :piss Hollywood :piss2 to see The Wrestler
I think my body is in large part recovering from previous this year - pretty crunchy through November and now it's like FUCK YES AT LAST it would seem
-
I'm sticking to my story, it's catching up.
You're probably a stress-powered worker too.
-
Mono?
-
I gave up and went to the Urgent Care facility. I want to kill the child next to me using some kidphonr device with the beeping turned on.
-
I hope everything is okay :( Maybe you should cut back on drinking.
-
Man, I love modern tech, updates from the waiting room.
Fingers crossed!
-
it sounds like seasonal fatigue mixed with a pretty hardcore schedule. still, never hurts to get it checked up!
-
Getting blood work done. Doctor suspects mono or hepatitis. Also, I haven't really been drinking.
-
So the doctor didn't say anything like, "That looks herpetic?" That's good news at least.
Mono is teh suck, though, and it's not directly treatable.
-
Mono :bow

It's just a growth spurt.

if this turns out to be something terrible we need a care package thread asap

ANEMIA?

He sent me a text message. It's full blown AIDS.

I have mono. No good way to speed it along. 1-3 weeks before it passes.
+ Mono is annoying, but it's not dangerous or fatal.
+ This is about the most ideal time to catch mono, since my plan was already basically to lounge around my apartment and watch movies and play videogames until January 5.
+ It's not hepatitis or liver problems or thyroid problems, all of which share symptoms.
- No cure or way to speed it up.
- I'm SO FUCKING TIRED.
- I didn't even get it by making out with a spurious hottie. I have no idea how I got it.
I guess after my pulmonary embolism and kidney stone earlier this year, 2008 was determined to prove that bad luck does come in threes. Consider me a born-again Wiccan.
-
Maybe you should stop sharing ice cream floats at the parlor with dudes
-

You've had a rough go of things healthwise. Catching it probably had something to do with your immune system getting raped all year. That probably made you more susceptible to infections.

Have you considered the possibility that this may be herpetic or herpetic-related?
-
yes, I was tested for both herpes and hepatitis amongst other things

I wanted my own speaking box too. d

Now it's a penis, with herpes. i
p
and now he has a maf bump.
-
Did a doctor at any point say the word "herpetic?" Because I think it's just about the coolest word ever. As long as I'm getting my name legally changed, I may slip that in there.
-
Why do they call it mono when you get it by being a duo?

:rofl
-
Great. Now who the fuck am I going to hang out with over the holiday vacation?
also, I haven't been feeling so great the last couple of days either. if i caught this from you, expect violence
-
Willco strikes again!
But seriously, I'm really sorry Patel. A good friend of mine had mono over the summer, she was wiped all the time. Take it easy and one day soon you will be "strong like bear" once again.
-
Also, with mono, you are slightly weaker to strep. If you get both at the same time, it's just easier to commit suicide than wait to feel better. You won't want to live anymore after going through it.
-
jesus christ in pink socks this is so depressing
patel i hope you get better and fast man
-
Willco strikes again!
:lol
I feel like mono is some kind of invisible stranger, ambushing all acquaintances. And I've actually met Patel in real-life!
Sorry, dude. It sucks. My best friend is going through it, sister, aunt, co-worker, another friend and former co-worker. Now you. The best advice I can give you is drink heavily.
Fluids, that is!
... not alcohol.
-
Mono does suck--had it once.
It kinda felt like I should be dead, but wasn't and it was all some cruel form of torture or something.
-
Godspeed Patel. :'(
-
This totally sucks. :( Nothing worse than spending time off sick and asleep.

Formica Blues :bow2
Hope you get better quickly. Nothing like fatigue to even sap the fun out of videogames.

I wouldn't paint this in worst case scenarios. He got mono during the best possible time. He caught mono during the Christmas to New Years corridor, which is the least disruptive time of year to get it.
When I was a teen, I was a mono-strep addict. It was horrendous, and I'd get them in either September or February, which are NOT the optimal times. Patel, my dear, dear friend, getting mono in late December is just god/jesus* telling you to take it easy.
*Never mind that god/jesus do not exist and that you'd have to be an etoilet-sized idiot to believe they do.
-
ugh, apparently I was lied to about the severity of mono and I'm probably going to have to miss several weeks of work in January. blehhhhhhh

What happened and what were you told? If they diagnosed you based on blood work, they should have been able to give you relatively accurate information about how bad your sitch was.
-
Mono was a bitch. I lost weight from losing almost all appetite, and I didn't really have any to lose :-\ Ended up having to do turn in some final projects late as I was in school at the time.
Hang in there SP, do your best to rest and keep as healthy as you can so it's over ASAP.
