Title: parent-bore: urinary tract infections?
Post by: Van Cruncheon on December 22, 2008, 06:37:33 PM
o yea sufferers of children, are there any good quick ways to stave off a kid's urinary tract infection? i'm trapped in by snowfall, and the kid is pissing fire. i have some cranberry juice (organic, unsweetened) which i'm diluting and giving to her, plus making her piss regularly despite the wails of rage, but anything other than that what can help?

winter and snow suck and if you like this season i hope you get something herpetic.

Cranberry or Apple juice I've heard work well.

When I got a UTI, I'd drink a shit-ton of water really quick (like 2-4 glasses) and then pee alot. Then I'd drink 2-4 more glasses. I did this until the peeing stopped hurting.  This usually cleared me up really quick, like within a few hours.

Cranberry pills are also recommended, if you feel like braving a store.

Otherwise, cranberry juice overload, and doctor if it's not better in a day or so.

Where they will also tell her to drink cranberry juice.

I have nothing to add, except to offer my sympathies.

My 5 year old daughter wails like a banshee if she stubs her toe....hate to think of what it would be like if she had a urinary tract infection.

Yea but it's not as common. Females got the short end of the evolution stick

More common in females though, right? I've never met a guy that had it ... but tons of girls.

Isn't this caused by whipping back to front?  Have you taught her proper toilet procedure Drinky?  smh.

it's caused by a lot of things, clown -- in this case, wanting to play outside for hours and holding all the pee in. and yes, my wife has taught her the proper wiping procedure. thankfully, you will never have the opportunity to be a parent, unless tvc finds a way to make your second asshole fertile.

In this case, possibly, but females also got lucky in some ways, not that they'd ever let you know it.  Despite how much they bitch about how bad they have it because of like breast cancer, men are still far more likely to get cancer.  I think it's like 1 in 3 will get cancer in their lives whereas 1 in 2 men will get it.

I've caught a couple of these, and it was miserable. For some reason, I had never heard about the cranberry trick at this time so it took a good four days to clear up. The next time I had it I knew about it, and it cleared up relatively quickly.
