I hate that.  It kinda happens a lot with me, and I'll cough until I start dry heaving.

I made a friend laugh one at Thanksgiving dinner while he had a mouthful of corn. The resulting shotgun blast ruined the mashed potatoes and gravy, and my perfectly good gin and tonic.
