From the biggest suikoden fan on the internet:
I've been following the initial reaction after Tierkreis' release in Japan.
On the first day, the game sold 40000 copies, which is pretty good.
Obviously the tally for the whole week would be much higher, and more people should buy ity during the weekend.
There have been relatively few complaints about the game including story and gameplay. Most of us worry about whether Tierkreis has the "Suikoden feel," but I've read some comments that say Tierkreis feels like Suikoden moreso than Suikoden 4 or 5, so the indication at this point seems to be pretty good. The whole "getting thrown into the dirt and then rising back to glory" type of catharsis that's a staple in earlier Suikoden titles seems to exist (based on comments made by Japanese fans).
Skeptics are starting to consider buying the game after refusing to acknowledge Tierkreis as a Suikoden title. The general view seems to be that the story and gameplay is sort of suikoden-like, while the game doesn't seem very suikoden-like initially.

bubububut this isn't a suikoden game.
Suikoden has the worst fans in the underground jrpg part of the industry. They don't care about Suikoden, they just want to play Suikoden 1 and 2 for the 1 gazillionth time.

Nobody cares

You just replied to yourself?
I don't even care about this shit, but from reading it sounds like some mega-fanboy thinks that maybe some Japanese guys might maybe think that the Suikoden DS game that has an art style no one likes is maybe like the original Suikoden games. Maybe.
Look buddy, after GTA-gate, you oughtta be sucking OUR balls. Now get off the internet and go play MGS VR Missions.

I've been following the initial reaction after Wii Music's release
On the first month, the game sold alot of copies, which is pretty good.
Obviously the tally for the whole year would be much higher, and more people should buy it during the holidays.
There have been relatively few complaints about the game including gameplay. Most of us worry about whether Music has the "Nintendo feel," but I've read some comments that say Music feels like Nintendo moreso than Geist or Wii Chess, so the indication at this point seems to be pretty good. The whole "anyone can play" type of catharsis that's a staple in earlier Nintendo titles seems to exist (based on comments made by Japanese fans).
Skeptics are starting to consider buying the game after refusing to acknowledge Music as a game. The general view seems to be that the feel and gameplay is sort of game-like, while the game doesn't seem very fun-like initially

it sounds like he hasn't played it so why should we take his word seriously again?

From what I've heard of it, it's better to think of it as an RPG by the makers of Suikoden, rather than going into it expecting it to BE Suikoden. I think it was a mistake on Konami's part to slap Suikoden onto the title.
This isn't Suikoden 6. It's Suikoden Tierkreis. I think the creator of the game even stated that Tierkreis is the start of a new franchise.

Come on Himu, this game drops some of the bigger Suikoden gameplay/mechanic staples and yet its out Suikoden's Suikoden 5? I can understand 4 but 5 brought it back.

2 hours in, I have mixed feelings about it... no doubt it's OK, however it seems to me that in many ways it's been altered so much that it looks and feels more like generic anime crap than like Suikoden
the initial cast of characters is pretty shitty, typical annoying jap brats, and ESPECIALLY when it comes to the main character, they should've made him a mute protagonist
it seems that the blacksmith weapon upgrade system is gone and it's been replaced by standard multiple RPG weapons that get increasingly powerful as you advance from town to town
the plot pretty much seems like ultra-generic anime crap so far too, though maybe it will pick up at some point, but it doesn't bode well, so far pretty much all of the story made me cringe
also the dungeons to me seem ridiculously small, even for Suikoden, I hope they'll be a lot more complex further in the game
now the rune magic or whatever uses a standard MP-based magic system so it seems that the game will be extremely easy

I liked RPGs better when they were underground :'(
