I never really got into the Marx brothers.  Grandpa loves 'em, though.

I never really got into the Marx brothers.  Grandpa loves 'em, though.

i enjoy anarchy and quick wordplay.  really the only marx brothers film people should watch is Duck Soup.  the others have their moments but DS is truly the king of them.

and there are some tragic, tragic, horrific films in the catalog waiting to pounce on the unsuspecting viewer.

First 5 eps of Sons of Anarchy on Hulu.  My favorite new US show in some time.  It's not quite Shield good, but it's a pretty great replacement. Gets better as it goes on, too, building towards a nice conclusion.  Also, great casting.  The unholy alliance of Ron Perlan and Peg Bundy 4 eva.

Watch "Overnight" on Netflix streaming (i know you said no to netflix streaming, but it is excellent). Documentary about the rags to riches story of Boondock Saints writer and director i forget what his name is

then watch Botched.  a movie about a heist gone horribly wrong in an eastern european high rise.

Well, it gets points for having a different setting.  It's a fairly nuanced drama.  The PR all says how it's inspired by Hamlet, and it's not bullshit-it shows.  And there's a little MacBeth in the mix.  I'll emphasize again that the casting is great around the board, big names and not so big names--you'd never guess that the main character's actor was on the UK Queer as Folk.

I was iffy on the premise myself, which is why it took me so long to give the show a shot.  I'm not quite sure how to sell it, really.  The first episode is good, though.  It's not like it takes 4 hours to get into.
