Well, I guess Ralf will keep it going. Maybe Schneider was the key source of them not releasing shit. It would be nice if they finally released the remasters of the entire back catalog. They'd be able to retire nice and fat.

yes please, making certain to release all the varous language versions of their stuff.
speaking of, did you know that the guy from Soft Cell did a cover of Jackie?

Holy FUCK THIS IS GLORIOUS

it's largely the same instrumentation, changing only the beat and the bassline.
i would drop this into a set to fuck with people

I'm listening to it again. This is fucking awesome. Better than the entire Animal Collective catalog condensed into 5 minutes. Looks like he has an entire album of Brel covers. I might have to snag that. It would be cool if he did covers of Scott's non-Brel stuff, like The Seventh Seal or The Old Man's Back Again (Dedicated to the Neo-Stalinist Regime). I just love typing out the full title to that one. Also, the more I think about it, that song would lend itself well to awesome trashy eurodisco.

you know about 30 Century Man, the documentary on Scott Walker, correct?
it was playing here but only for a week. sadly i missed it because i promised to wait to see it with someone who went out of town. *shakes fist*
-
I heard of it, but I have no idea if it is worth watching. This comment sounds promising, though.
a memorable sequence in which Walker oversees the recording of the punching of a joint of pork, for the percussion on the song Clara.

I will have to check out the trailer at least then. The list of people interviewed in the movie is also impressive. It has Eno!
