Only douches with iMacs.  People who are serious about it either use the trackpad or a good usb mouse.

i love the unix underpinnings of my mbp but i wouldn't call myself a fan boy.

yeah.  supposed to be top of the line.  work bought it for me so i have no idea.

it's nice but beyond handbrake i don't really do anything demanding on it.

I also really like OS X's interface and stability (except when it hangs on shutdown/reboot, hurrr).

Yeah, I don't know.  I use Handbrake, Max, and Logic on mine, and it handles everything just fine.  I think it jsut depends what you're used to.

i've been reading a lot of tech blogs like gizmodo and engadget recently, and i always get a kick out of the apple fan comments - everything would alway be "better on a mac" or whatever

I had a teacher talk about how he couldn't understand PCs yesterday because he was a Mac person.  Problem was that he was blaming the PC instead of accepting it was his own incompetence as an Apple fan.
