Remind me why I allow you to make threads.

I was playing MK2 online before on PS3. Game is still so fun. Good old midway/williams.

I could never get into Mortal Kombat. It was always punch x5 or something, uppercut, repeat. Or if you're Liu Kang, forward forward kick or forward forward punch.

What happened with Midway? I haven't been keeping track of game news lately. I thought they were bought by an independent investor recently.

They'll announce their closure once Wheelman is released.

They have a month to pay off some debt or they go into bankruptcy. Apparently, the sale triggered some bond repayments, and Midway got some deadline extensions... but right now, they're like Chrysler, a dead company walking.

I'm kinda confused at the second video. Why does it mention Space Invaders and Ms. Pac-Man when pimping Midway shit?

Midway published those titles in the US back in the day. Actually, Midway took a Pac-Man bootleg, repurposed into Ms. Pac-Man, and then gave the rights to Namco for fear of pissing them off. Now you know. :-*

Yeah I know that, but by the time that video was made, wasn't Namco publishing the games themselves? Not sure who had the Space Invaders IP at that point...

Goro scared me in the first MK. I'd always go upstairs before he appeared on screen during the logo intro :lol
I thought MK was awesome for the same reasons I thought nu metal was awesome. It was edgy and violent as I was a kid. But even then I preferred SFII. I can play SFII to this day and still be amused...can't say that for MK
