"Epilogue" DLC
-
Ubi :(
-
You do know the reason why they are going to offer this epilogue DLC, is because the game bombed, and thus, they can't continue the story with a sequel, because there will be no sequel.
-
yeah, I remember someone joking a while back (I think from EA) about selling the end of the game as DLC to combat piracy. Ubisoft listened.
-
How much, how much content, and are there achievements?
-
i'm liking it okay so far
i can't comment on the story because i only halfway pay attention to what's being said and i sort of tune out
i'm just enjoying the pretty scenery and the easy jumping
it's a good game to autopilot through and watch all the cool animations

It's no Assassin's Creed, but it's not a bomb by any stretch (especially when you consider that they reused the AC engine). And where the hell did you get that 2 million figure, Green Man?
Anyway, I'll buy the epilogue if it has new achievements. :-[

500 k across both platforms is not a bomb? This game was a major release for Ubisoft, sales expectations were in the 2/3 million mark. The dev himself said that sequels depended on the success of the installment. It's the worst selling Ubisoft Prince of Persia by far.
It's a bomb. This ain't the Ps1 days. Next Prince of Persia will be very different.

There were so many awesome games coming out in that period that a lot of games bombed.
It seems a lot of publishers/developers eventually realised why their sales for some games were low in that period (duh), and if so they may stick to the formula but release at a better time.

Actually, another model I'm waiting to encounter is including a portion of the game as DLC with a one-time unlock code that ships in the game. Maybe stick 20% of the gameplay in there, and it's only accessible to people who purchased the game new. Imagine if Rock Band 2's free 20 tracks were the hard-hitters like The Who and Red Hot Chili Peppers and Metallica instead of local Boston bands and other up-and-comers. People would have been falling over themselves to buy it new.
