That ad will air during the second quarter of the Super Bowl. And this one will air during the pregame.

I read about the second commercial at Pitchfork.
Corgan, you're shunning albums in favor of debuting songs in video games and commercials.
You were once my Rock God... smh

I don't think "selling out" is an extreme enough term to use for debuting songs in a commercial. If this ever happens again, we should just use the phrase "corganing it up."

Fuck Hyundai
.

I'm going to assume the World War II allusion in that first one is unintentional. Dumb Koreans.

it will always be Hun-Die to me

Corgan wears a fucking dress in GHWT.
He too was once one of my rock gods :(
-
He wore a fucking dress/garbage bag contraption during the Machina Tour.
Those suits he wore during the Adore tour were badass.

I thought he had a skirt of some sort on in the Ava Adore video?

He did, but during the actual word tour in support of Adore, he wore really nice suits on stage.

Diablos suiciding

That kinda sucks. I was kinda operating under the impression that Billy Corgan stopped where pants altogether about a decade ago. :(

There would have been a quirky appreciation for that if that was the case but as a devout fan since the "Gish" age I can't help but SMH when I see pictures of him past 2000.
-
I was indoctrinated into the church of SP back in 1990...
My Rock God abandoned me long ago, and when he tried coming back I told him to fuck off.
Diablos can have him.

Yeah, I don't trust ferrariman's opinion on cars

The man-dress he wears in Ava Adore is fucking awesome. I used to talk about buying one in high school.

I'm just chalking it up to old age that I can't feel the pumpkins anymore. Is it possible I've just "outgrown" them? It's crazy because if you ask any of my friends who my favorite band was, they would say the pumpkins without hesitation. :-\

I think I've "outgrown" them, too. Every time I try to explain that to Diablos, he doesn't understand.

i'm pretty sure that was the point...

on tv the other night, while flipping through one of the on demand music channels, i saw a whole catalog of pumpkin songs from the early mid 90s. one of the first songs i put on was 1979, a video i haven't seen since i was probably in middle school nor have i even paid attention to the lyrics since probably high school.
since that night, i've been reallly depressed. i've been filled with nostalgia lately of my own youth :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
oh corgan, you've pushed the dagger right through my heart.

I'm kinda torn on it. It's a familiar image of trouncing opponents, but there's really nothing else there that indicates that it is definitely intentional, and I can't think of a reason why a Korean car company would want to make this particular allusion, but maybe they're just taking an implicit WAR AND FOOTBALL, AMERICA FUCK YEAH approach to selling cars. Either way, I thought about that one way longer than the boring Corgan ad, so it's certainly a success.
-
The first commercial was awesome. The second one was pretty stupid.
I heard that the new Tiburon has an optional V8 and rear-wheel drive. If so, I can't wait for car magazines or Top Gear to do a comparison of it against the Mustang.
-
Corgan is Chicago's worse. He used to be Chicago's best.

The V8 won't fit into the Genesis Coupe, apparently, but yes, it is RWD. It's not a replacement for the Tiburon, but the Tiburon is slated to go out of production soon, so yeah...
-
eh, at least they're going in a nice direction. I wouldn't be surprised if Hyundai reveals a pick-up soon but that's probably the hardest market to get into.

I doubt it.
As for the Genesis Coupe, thanks to the magic of partnerships, the turbo four is basically the same motor that Mitsubishi uses in the Lancer Ralliart/Lancer Evo X. The tuner market will be all over it like red on a Corvette. :-*
