There's enough no names at each show to where I'd be introduced to a lot of new shit regardless, but Bonnaroo has Bruce, Elvis Costello, of Montreal, and Animal Collective.  That seals the deal for me.

i haven't heard the orb since adventures in the ultraworld which is like 20 years old, but thats a great album -- maybe they suck live

While I like The Flaming Lips, I dislike Animal Collective.

they'll be adding an additional 30 bands or so and ATP lineups are never disappointing.

and not to mention the flaming lips haven't picked any bands yet for the day that they're curating and if you're familar with their history, you can expect an extremely eclectic selection.

but anyways read this, http://pitchfork.com/features/articles/7391-atp-new-york/. the experience is up there with the ones i had at coachella 04 and 05.

It is.  There was so much awesome shit this year, and i got to see etienne de crecy perform in his fucking cube stage

also The Orb was garbage.  who the fuck let these guys in?  when cut rate dubstep djs in beer tents are tearing your set down, it's time to rethink some shit.

Wow, that is depressing to hear :( The Orb was one of my first introductions to electronic music... UFOrb was a fucking great album.

oh and fleet foxes was fucking RUINED by the proximity of that hideous bamboo shantytown full of wet hippies and bad djs. fuck the sound guy in the face. good thing there was so much else to make up for it

has the orb changed their sound at all in the past 15 years or so though?  I loved the orb too and would see them at a small club, no questions asked, but not at a festival.

anyway, all this shit sounds like shit.  I'd rather eat shit than go to a festival with 7000 bands.

unless it's ATP  :smug

Rolled with my girlfriend for Paul McCartney and The Cure. Both were fucking amazing, and I don't think the MDMA had anything to do with my feelings in that regard. I didn't expect that McCartney could bust out a shredding guitar solo, but now that I think of it, there's probably not a lot that McCartney can't do.

I'd kinda like to see that because I would be surprised by it, but I suppose it's also unsurpring as Paul was really the only Beatle who was technically profiecent musically.

those guitar solos in 'the end' weren't jams, were they? iirc they basically played them the way they are on the record -- which was john, paul, and george trading solos. but i really may not rc

:bow paul's bass sound circa paperback writer :bow2

he also played the solo on taxman, which is ten billion times better than anything matt bellend will ever do
