These are shows that i've been on the fence about watching and still haven't been "pushed over the edge" to get around seeing at least one of them.

Mad Men, I started it yesterday and love it so far, the only bad thing is that I was out of cigarretes yestarday while watching it :(

The Wire is fucking awesome..but I voted Deadwood cause Season 1 was better than Season 1 from The Wire imo.

Watch them all, but try to marathon BSG right now so you can start watching season 4.5 with the rest of us.

Mad Men is brilliant, but you've got until July before season three starts.

For those recommending Deadwood, have you even seen seasons 2 and 3?  I mean, yeah, season 1 is fucking awesome but season 2 and 3 (especially season 3!) are a complete trainwreck.  The Shakespearean dialogue goes into hyperdrive and by the end of the series nothing has happened.  I've never seen a more anticlimactic end to anything in my entire life.  The last episode in season 3 is like one gigantic "fuck you!" to the viewer. 

The only way I could ever recommend Deadwood to anyone is if they stop at the end of season 1 and just forget that there's a season 2 and 3 out there.

I got towards the middle of season 3 of Deadwood before I needed a break. Season 2 does have a rough spot, but it does get going in a nice way. The problem the show has is that it wants its protagonist and antagonist to be on friendly terms far too much.

Yeah I thought Season 1 was the best...seasons 2 and 3 are mediocre.

If something would've happened at the end then I'd agree but I just can't look past that ending.  The whole season was building to, or at least hinting at, a major confrontation but what do we get?  Nothing.  It was like someone just pulled the plug and everyone walked away. And what the fuck was the deal with the theater troupe?  I mean they added absolutely no point to anything other than to pad out some of the epsiodes.  What a waste.

They fucked up that series which is a shame 'cause I still think season 1 is brilliant, I just can't accept what happened afterwards.

If he hasn't seen this than I agree. But everyone watches it, or at least I'd hope so. House is the best tv drama in the last 10 years.
