if they aren't playing Motorstorm 2 they are.
-
rather be playing burnout, thanks.
-
racing games :snore
-
TLR > Motorstorm 2
-
motorstorm 1 > motorstorm 2
but that's nothing to complain about. motorstorm 1 was the best arcade racer since burnout 3
-
:bow MS2 :bow2
It's on the shortlist of PS3 games I wish I could play more of but have limited time on the family TV. :gloomy
-
I own it. But it's pretty hard and I hate those time-attack races with the beacons.
I always want to get gold, too. If I get silver I start the race anew. Can get frustrating.
-
I'm sort of the expert on arcade racing games. You should adjust your tastes accordingly to look cool when posting on forums.
-
Tabasco. I'm from the internet
-
Motorstorm 2 is amazing. Every other week I go back to it and do two challenges from the four area types. Eventually I will finish the game.
and Motorstorm 2 is a massive improvement over Motorstorm 1
-
Same here. A little at a time.
-
the laaaaast reeeemnaaaaaant
-
never seen you before.
I'll just have to double my efforts then. Perhaps less light-hearted posts?
-
You can play my PS3
-
I approve of MS2 love.
-
motorstorm 2 is much better but it still feels pretty generic to me. plus the handling drives me insane for single player and i dont have the patience to learn it. im sure its awesome fun online though.
-
Yeah, it's odd. Personally, I prefer blaming critics for being particularly nitpicky and being soulless carcasses fueled by nothing but spit and spite, but I don't actually think that's the reason for it flopping. Maybe it was released at the wrong time or something, but the game is a massive improvement in every way and should realistically appeal to anyone who likes wild racing games. And yeah, it's not exactly the first time PS3 owners have snubbed quality games. Too busy rallying around the next big game to actually have time to appreciate what's there, I guess.
motorstorm 2 is much better but it still feels pretty generic to me.
Yeah, just another drop in the great ocean of wild off-road arcade games. :wtf Just shut up about games in the future. Thanks.
-
:bow MS2 :bow2It DESTROYS MS1.
Can someone explain what is to prefer in MS1 over MS2? I have both and it's night and day as to which is the better game imo.
I do like Motorstorm 2. It just lost a little of what I liked about the first. By opening up the tracks, you have less interaction with the AI. A big part of MS was the constant jostling with the AI for position going into and out of turns. In MS, besides the parts of the tracks where they set up choke points, you can really avoid the other vehicles. I also felt the
Time Challenges were a pointless addition, while the Eliminator was cool.
Now the improved loading for vehicle selection, and increased variety and track number, you'll get no argument from me.
MS 10/10
MS2 9.9/10
edit: as far as it struggling, I really think Sony has no clue how to market its exclusives. Why was there a KZ2 online demo right as Resistance 2 released? Why is there a big PR promotion for Uncharted 2 just before the Killzone 2 demo launches, and really a general barrage of KZ2 hype in all of February?
And MS isn't really a big IP yet, so launching it in the same time frame as NFS and Midnight Club just wasn't smart. It really got the PGR4 treatment, but in that case at least, MS had the whole Bizarre/Activision rationale.
-

Still better than MS1, and the race box (or whatever it's called in MS2) feature is a very welcome addition. In MS1, you could realistically fail to unlock all events, due to the ridiculous difficulty and them forcing you to play all race types, with all sorts of vehicles.
-
I guess if you really like nighttime races with no god damned headlights, MS1 might be hot.
-
Yeah, just another drop in the great ocean of wild off-road arcade games. :wtf Just shut up about games in the future. Thanks.
shouldn't you have me on ignore :-*
anyway i fail to see how saying it feels generic but is much better than MS1 (which was utterly generic) makes my opinion invalid. the environments are much better but the racing feels lackluster. compared to something like flatout which isn't the best looking game but there's always shit going on everywhere.
-
Because "generic" is a shit term. It's a lazy, lame and in this case perfectly misplaced go-to term of choice for critically lazy dunderheads.
-
you're generic
:-*
as i said i haven't played it online yet so im sure it's more fun.
-
Yeah, just another drop in the great ocean of wild off-road arcade games. :wtf Just shut up about games in the future. Thanks.
shouldn't you have me on ignore :-*
If he had you on ignore he'd have nothing to get his panties in a wad over.
Your panties never used to be so tightly wadded duckman. :(
-
Besides if you say "generic" people might just assume you're talking about Killzone.
It's funny how the tables have turned. Xbox was criticised for having nothing but generic shooters and racers, and now the PS3s big hitters are mostly generic shooters and racers.

I just hate that fucking term, or at least the loose usage of it. Motorstorm is many things, but it's not generic.

I haven't played Motorstorm 2, how does it compare to Wipeout HD?
I like RR7 too, one thing the PS3 definitely has is solid arcade racers.
-
All my PS3 owning friends are distinguished mentally-challenged fellows. None of them want to buy Little Big Planet, Motorstorm 2, Wipeout HD, or even Killzone 2.
No game appeals to everybody.

You can try the demo, but it uses one of worst tracks, though. It has tons of content to keep you busy for a while, and it has more varied than Wipeout HD and more vehicle variety as well. Both are great games.
-
Yeah, Motorstorm 2 rocks. It's literally PS3's PGR4; sequel to a flawed launch game, released with shit marketing alongside other heavy hitters (LBP, Halo 3), bombed in sales, had some pre-release hype but it all fizzled at the end, ended up being an excellent game that fixes nearly all the previous game's problems, etc.
I'll definitely buy it when it gets down to $30 or so and I'm finished with Banjo N&B.
-
No game appeals to everybody.
Yes, unbelievably so.
I'd assume that my friends, some of whom are FPS, platforming, and racing fans would enjoy the exclusives. You know, genres that a vast majority of people tend to enjoy. But no, they're quite content to stick to other games for their fix. Like this guy I know who picked up Haze and is currently mulling over a Killzone 2 purchase. Or the other who enjoyed the hell out of Mario Galaxy but has no interest in Little Big Planet.
I don't get these people.
Some people don't like shooters, they like Halo. They don't like platformers, they like Mario. They don't like RPGs, they like Final Fantasy. Maybe all they need is Guitar Hero and Madden. Or Wii Sports. :o
There's nothing sad or distinguished mentally-challenged about it, and there's nothing to "get." They've got the games they want to play, everything else is "ho-hum might try it later."

Shut up distinguished mentally-challenged fellow

was the KZ2 thread smited off the bore?
*oops nvm
-
You're obsessed with sfags :lol
Saying that, Demon Souls looks like utter trash. Especially since people are comparing it with Oblivion :yuck
-
WHERE IS YOUR BAR NOW SFAGS?
It's the xfag bar you are speaking of, if I may correct you. You know, the one that can never be met regardless.
And goeth forth the mantra of the xfag condemning a person for taking interest in a game, gathering their angst from the fact that said game and review code tell the tale of the final product.
-

What, no PGR 3 love? You suck.
-
I wouldn't really call PGR3 (or any PGR) an arcade racer. It's a half breed.
OMG I MISS BIZARRE SO MUCH! Actishit better not ruin them.
-
It's a sad state of affairs when PS3 owners look forward to PS3 games, huh DCharlie? Some nerve, those guys.
-
I don't have a bone with DC. Fuck, he owns more PS3 games than me. I 'call him out' per say for fun because he is the fucking XFE. Nothing that I post is out of malice for him or anyone else. It's all in good fun IMO.
Plus, how boring would it be if there was no sfag input? I thought you guys had run Duckman out of town for a while there. So I boosted my efforts to take on the sfag spin when I couldn't really care less about console wars.
I have no bone to pick with anyone since gaming is the only area here that is entirely up to your own likes.
-
:bow :bow :bow :bow :bow Zero Hero :bow2 :bow2 :bow2 :bow2 :bow2
Truly without peer.

I thought you guys had run Duckman out of town for a while there.
Pfft.

http://d.hatena.ne.jp/video/niconico/sm6048882
here is the next big hope for sfags.
THIS is why they deserve to be laughed at.
The frame rate and animation rate looks as awful as it did at TGS (so i'm not sure this IS the streaming)
the gameplay looks, to put it mildly, fucking turgid.
and the whole thing stinks of last gen.
and the game is so awfully designed that people are dying hundreds of times on the first part of the game.
Sfag reaction ? OH THIS IS MY SORT OF GAME, I LOVE A CHALLENGE, OBLIVION OWNED!
so yes, ps3 owners who lavish praise on this bunkum ARE stupid. no question.
WHERE IS YOUR BAR NOW SFAGS?
I don't think it's really mainstream sbots that are looking forward to this, is it? I mean, the people I see on gaf looking forward to it usually mention their love for King's Field in the same breath. And King's Field fans are hardly normal (I should know, I am one!). I don't want to sound like an apologist, because I'm going to avoid this like a steaming turd if it turns out genuinely bad, but at the same time I'd love for it to be a true KF successor, technical warts and all.
(:gloomy PS3 owner here :gloomy How long until I'm brainwashed?)
-
I thought Demon's Souls got a poor review by famitsu are there any people left who think it'll be anything but mediocre at best?
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=350591&page=9
the usual suspects.
Indigo is the new viral on the block?
Jesus, guys, just go play Oblivion. Or is it not good enough since it's not exclusive?
-
i should stop the shit stirring.
Please don't.
