Yes you heard her right. Every man woman and child (plus more apparently) in the country will be jobless unless we pass this legislation.
-
A Palin v Pelosi Jeopardy! show would be some must watch television.
-
It's possible.
We all know filthy poors have higher pregnancy rates than the well-to-do. So as more and more Americans lose their jobs, more and more Americans are born. Result: 500 million unemployed Americans.
-
She obviously meant 500 thousand, but it was still a funny gaffe. :lol

Did she?

well, if they lost their jobs -- and apparently those of extradimensional permutations of themselves -- they were clearly lazy and without value by free market standards. the invisible hand is also quantum!
-
Can we just clone some messicans so they could be the 500 million and let the white's keep their jobs? :-[

it's not invisible but rather imperceptible

Remember when there was an anti-Obama event and Beardo was all like, "Hey will the Huffington Post bother to report this!?!?!" and it was in fact on their front page lol

It would be nice having elected officials know how many citizens there are. But I guess that is like asking a president to know how many states there are.
-
I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and say that she wasn't trying to scare the american people into supporting this. What do you suppose she was trying to say?
That 500 thousand people will lose their job every month?
-

FWD: FWD: FWD: 0. Hussein Soetoro Marxbama a MUSLIM!?!??! READ!

So Obama having a mistake in a speech = he really does not know how many states there are?
Did you take every word mistake Bush made totally literally as well?

Oh and so Beardo will stop playing stupid:
Pelosi repeated that 500 million jobs would be lost unless Obama's stimulus package was passed by Congress.
Chris Wallace corrected her and asked if she meant 500,000 jobs.
"What did I say, million?" asked Pelosi, adding that it "feels like 500 million."
"Some 500,000 Americans will lose their jobs each month until we have a recovery package," she said.

TOO LATE! I heard that republicans already claimed "no taking backsies".

First-time claims for state unemployment insurance reached 626,000 in the week ended Jan. 31, up 35,000 from the prior week. And continuing claims, an indication of the difficulty in finding a new job, increased to a record 4.79 million, according to the Labor Department. See story on jobless claims.
The claims data came a day before the release of the government's broader payrolls report for January. Some analysts expect a total of 525,000 jobs to have been shed last month, with the unemployment rate projected to have climbed to 7.5%.

303,824,648 or so(I added eight because of those kids that were just born).
Green Man for president 2027
You got my vote.

Haha Pelosi. Looking at all the pork she supported in the stimulus bill 500 thousand, 500 million, numbers they just don't matter anymore. :bow
-
lol @ the Gaffe.
But its funny though, if the situation were different, this is how it would go:
Palin: If we don't pass this 500 Million Americans will lose their jobs!
Reporter: 500 Million?
Palin: I meant 500,000 every month.
EB/GAF: LOL @ PALIN
Member: She clarified she meant 500,000 a month.
EB/GAF: So? Shes stupid, lol. Anyone who doesn't agree is dirty Republitard.
-
Did anyone ever really think Palin was stupid because of switching single words around? I think it was from never having a competent answer to anything, maybe I'm wrong.
Also, is Pelosi even popular to anyone? Who is a big fan of Pelosi?

I'm just pointing out how it would go if it were reversed. :)

Pelosi is terrible.
Completely spineless and the reason why there won't be another female Speaker of the House for a looong time.
-
I like how conservatives think liberals like Pelosi for some reason. No one really likes her, she is better than the old Republican guy who was Speaker of the House before her, from Illinois though. I forgot his name.
Dems need a new Tip O'Neil.
-
Murtha was your Tip O'Neill. Democrats were more interested in making history than picking the right person.
Tip O'Neill is a bit overrated anyways. He was an old school Bawston politician that played the foil to Reagan, in an era where most national Democrats were a bit lost or inconsequential.
-
People are comparing Pelosi to Palin? Rilly?
-
You're right. Pelosi is more like GWB. An incompentent, rich kid boob that has had the privledge of our nepotistic political system.
Even that is unfair, GWB actually had to compete for his office spots.
-
Mmmmm hmm.

Nonfarm payrolls fell by a seasonally adjusted 598,000 in January, on the heels of a revised loss of 577,000 in December, the government said.
January marked the largest payroll loss since December 1974, according to a survey of workplaces. Payrolls fell by 597,000 in November.
"Job losses were large and widespread across the major industry sectors," said Keith Hall, head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Manufacturing was particularly weak, experiencing its largest decline in 26 years.
"The only 'positive' of today's report is that these ugly numbers put even more pressure on policymakers to finally agree on fiscal measures to stop the downward spiral of the economy," wrote Harm Bandholz, economist for UniCredit Markets.

I eat a shoe if the stimulus doesn't pass and we lose 500K jobs for 6 months straight.

That's less of a bet, and more of a prediction.
"Pass them shoes, Stabby Joe. Gonna make me some stew."
-
Well we've gone well over that for 2 months straight, so let's try it out
actually isn't it 3 months?
-
that's like saying you'll eat a shoe if the wii sales 400,000 consoles a month for 6 months

Dennis Hastert?
Pelosi is a lot better than him but she is a highly flawed Representative. I'm just going to chalk her up to the fact that politics for most of this decade have sucked ass and that eventually, this decade could be written off as a low point for US politics.
