That was Cibo Matto with Sean Lennon, John and Yoko's son, playing lead guitar.

Although I love the campiness and ham-fisted metaphors of season one, season two is the best season. Season three a close second.

I was gonna say, I thought that was Sean Lennon.

I like this so far.  Xander <3

Joss Whedon ruined Xander, turning him into a whiny, pathetic dweeb by season three.

The name "Xander" was ruined by a certain OA poster.

Buffy's worth watching up til season 5.  Season 6 has a couple of great eps and a couple of entertaining train wrecks.  Season 7 is No Man's Land, though.

Season 2 and 3 are the best, they're also when Buffy was at her hottest.   :drool

Season 6 is actually my favorite of the post-highschool years.  I guess most people didn't have enough fail in their early twenties to appreciate it.

Season 2 and 3 are great stuff, 4/5 aren't terrible, and 6 has some great episodes (I love the musical), but is pretty weak overall. I've actually never seen the majority of 7, just the last few episodes, but I hear I'm not missing much.

I liked a lot  of aspects in season 7. The villain was right, Nathan Fillion's priest was demented, the tone was appropriately dark and dire, Giles had a few badass moments (throat slicing), Xander was toned down. But then they had the over the top cornball ending, the slayerettes, a lame death of a longtime character, a forced romance with Willow, a supposedly new Buffy weapon that looked like it was made in a high school metal shop class, and many other annoying little factors. I'd say keep your expectations low and still watch it, then hike over to Angel for the better series finale.

I sort of liked season 7 too, but I get why people don't.  It was pretty clumsy.
Angel season 5 was a bigger disappointment for me, though the last episode was good.

I really enjoyed Buffy but never got around to watching any of Angel. Should I get on that?

The worst part of season 7 was Buffy delivering inspirational speeches like every fucking episode to the dipshit hobag junior slayers that nobody liked.

Don't watch Angel or any other Whedon show that isn't Buffy. All of Whedon's stuff that isn't Buffy is horrible. I'm, like, cautiously optimistic about Dollhouse though. It stars the hott chick who played Faith in Buffy and it doesn't have a distinguished mentally-challenged premise like Firefly.

mmmm Faith
