I just want to take some time to appreciate Willco and Cloud and Demi and anyone else who sets this place up as an awesome forum.
I've been frequenting the forums on TheKnot.com for the past six months or so to prepare for my wedding to Ecrofirt. The forum parts of that site SUCK.
Threads are organized by when they're made, not the last reply. So you can have a really great thread with lots of replies, and it gets lost in the shuffle of: how can I say "no kids" on the invitation? Can I throw myself a shower? How do I ask for money as a gift? I'm wearing an ivory dress, can the groomsmen wear white shirts or will my dress look dingy? Constantly.
The censorship is ridiculous. I'm not a very vulgar person, so I never noticed too much of it, until New Year's Eve. People couldn't talk about Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve, because "dick" is a censored word. Really?
They let posters have GIANT PICTURE SIGNATURES that take up half the screen.
There's this ridiculous "TheKnot TV" video that plays on the right side of most pages. I don't think there's a way to permanently shut it off.
You can't PM other posters. You can "page them to a thread' by making your subject line *****WILLCO***** and asking them the question in a public post.
Don't get me wrong, I'm pretty much in love with that site, but the setup is poor poor poor. My friend thinks they hired a 9-year-old to code the frames.
Whenever you think to complain about this place, think about how much worse it could be. :bow EB :bow2

OH GOD. I forgot about how TheKnot doesn't have gay subtext.
EB = best forum ever confirmed.
-
i imagine a bunch of brides with gay subtext would be kind of...rough
-
I would pay money to see Tauntaun (or a female version) on that forum. It would be classic.
-
I remember when my wife was reading The Knot forums. If you guys think /b or whatever they're called now is scary, you've never been to The Knot.
-
Totally agree :rock EB in general :rock

I just noticed on some of their boards you can click "viewing preferences" or "sort posts" and organise by reply date.
Also, I hope everyone likes my new sig. :heart

Haha I love when someone is like "how can I ask my parents to pay for my wedding?" Then the CLAWS COME OUT.
Bildi, I like your sig! ;)

I've stumbled across some of these all-female forums and wondered how many are actually dudes psoing as a woman. Internet is a strange place.

I bet pussy is censored. Wouldn't surprise me. Shenanigans!

Do these married couples make topics about their honeymoons? I love literotica.

Bildi, I like your sig! ;)
Thanks! :)
I considered signing up for fun and hilarity, but the first topic I came across was discussing bustlings. I don't even know what a bustling is. :(

If you have a train on your dress and don't want it stepped all over, you can have it bustled. They basically just attach the train up to the back of your dress in any number of different ways so it doesn't drag all over the floor.
Learn something new every day. :)

Oh I get it, thanks!

Kiss ass!

Knowledge is power!
Never again will I have to stammer awkwardly when trying to start a conversation with a hot bridesmaid.

Sometimes I wonder that myself.
